This is either a really good problem

or a really bad one...

being that there is so much differential between people's opinions of the best and or most complete.

I think our 3 starting WRs right now are all 2nd year players... and any one of them could flame out.

Hell, they all could.

I'd actually be pretty OK with us having 3 really good receivers in which none of them stand out as what people claim to be the #1 guy.

It works for a lot of the really good teams.

Yeah having a Calvin Johnson type guy would be great.

But the combo of Arob, Lee, and Hurns (possibly another addition) could be really good for years. And if no one emerges as a top flight guy, you aren't stressed to resign any of them down the road.

That ALL being said...

I expect ARob to lead the team in yards and possibly TDs (Thomas is the other guy I think could lead in TDs)

Hurns I think may have limited snaps so I don't expect him to top any stat lines, barring injuries to the other guys. But I think he can be a very good rotation receiver.

While Lee will have some gaudy YAC stats (screens, etc.) but otherwise average numbers.

I would be okay with Lee having "average" numbers if he provides a true deep threat that can stretch the field and command S attention.

But I think the potential is there for all three to be highly productive players for us.  I'd love to see this group replicate the 1991 Skins WR trio (Monk, Clark, Sanders) or the Bills of the early 1990s (Reed, Lofton, Beebe).

Quote:And Robinson would have beaten Hurns in every category (except TD's maybe) if he didn't get hurt.

I mean he only had what... 4 less receptions in 6 less games?
If*, just think if* Hurns was 100%. He toughed it out and played hurt though

So if you were to bet on who would have the better season next year, you would bet on Hurns over Robinson?

I got Robinson doubling Hurns in every category except total yards maybe.

You on the other hand can't seem to grasp this widely known and used concept.

A guy with 23 catches in his 8 starts isn't exactly disproving the notion of having a ceiling. It's not like he took his game to another level when given starting opportunities outside of the very first game. The exact opposite started happening and teams pretty much turned him into a non factor.

Mix him into the rotation and he made some nice plays here and there. Put him in as a starter where teams account for him and his production falls off a cliff. Half his starts had 2 or less receptions.
We are about to find out, begging of his 2nd season and should have the number 2 WR spot locked up
Its sure is nice to have 2 nice young WR starting along with a elite TE in Thomas.

Peter King specifically mentioned Hurns yesterday on "The Drill" as a player to look out for that nobody's heard of around the league.

a lot of people on here thinks last year was a fluke because he knew the play book and Fisch's system. Year two and a new system, can't wait

He also went out of his way to say he stood out above Allen Robinson in his eyes.
I wasnt at the scrimmage.... But i didnt buy this notion that hurns was one of our best, even before tonight...and after some of what i have read, i dont think many others are thinking that hurns is near being our #1

What does you not being at the scrimmage have anything to do with this? You don't buy that Hurns is one of our best? Outside of maybe Robinson who is better than Hurns on this team?

None of the receivers looked good. Colvin and House were shutting down the passing game. Hurns did drop a pass he should have caught. At least he got open deep on that play.

Not sure if i would call that a drop were it was a diving catch

Would have been a good catch but he probably should have caught it.

Yeah he should have but not sure if they would count that as a drop

Howeve it was an awesome throw.

hmmm maybe, Emphasis on the fact that the scrimage didnt make me think this way... And i would say lee will be better this year, hopefully greene makes more of an impact and gains a bigger roll, and you already said robinson... So i would say, IMO(that part is pretty key in this assessment) hurns isnt our best..I like condescending questions, got any more?
