There's 2 things that Cook had when he played college that Fournette didn't have..

That's when he kicks into that 2nd gear in the secondary if u know what I mean..

Also he had a offensive line that wasn't nearly as good..

I still voted for Fournette though cuz I wasn't sure who is better..

Either way like some on here said I would be happy with either one..

It really comes down to which guy this Jags regime believes will better suit their intended style of play IMO.

These two guys are pretty different players.

The one little detail I've noticed that might give Cook a little edge in my book:

Against the better defenses Fournette tends to struggle  to get free when his O-Line allows penetration.  Cook tends to improvise his way around it a little more effectively.  Given the struggles of the Jags O-Line in the run game - this may be a consideration.

They are both worthy of a top ten pick IMO.  Picking one at 4 still scares me a bit - but I could see it happening if the Jags don't see proper value in Adams or the best remaining D-Lineman.

I disagree on offensive line. Fsu line has been good at run blocking and played much better overall in the 2nd half of 2016 season. LSU offensive line hasn't been any good especially against better Sec defenses

Yup, Fournette becomes what Ezkiel Elliott was to the the Cowboys. Blake turns in to a game manager like Prescott. Or yet better Jags acquire Romo.

I commented in a previous thread that I would take cook because I THOUGHT he has better speed and was more likely to be a better NFL RB.I was apparently quite wrong.

I just read this article and watched both of the embedded videos. You should too.

And man....Fournette is an absolute monster.

It gives me goosebumps to think Fournette could be a jaguar.

The only thing I don't like about fournette is that he doesn't appear to have great illusivenes.

He definitely does make up for that with raw speed and power.

I want feedback on this...I was apparently wrong on this topic before lol...could be wrong again.
cook can actually stay on the field, and who we should choose but

let's be honest, they're gonna select a punter or kicker in the first round.. that would only make sense

We have a lot of needs, so taking a RB in the first would be a gamble. I'm ok with Fournette at 4, I think he's got some Fred Taylor to him. I'd like to trade back 5-10 picks if we were targeting Cook, who I think could make one hell of an addition to our passing game. I'd choose trading down and taking Cook over drafting Fournette at 4, but for some reason I really want one of those guys carrying the rock for us next year.

My ultimate scenario is drafting Fournette at 4, trading back into the 1st and drafting Cook, paired with signing quality offensive lineman in FA. Never happen, but I can dream.

Ya i'm on the Fournette train at this point, Give me the big back with speed, its long overdue.

I agree.
If ya think this guy has Fred in him? ya will be heart broken. The difference is Fred didnt need a lot of space to get going.

Fournette from what I have seen. Needs some space. If shut down at the point of attack or line or back field. Will he be effective?

Highly doubtful. So comparing him to Fred? Come on now.

What Bcc does is find stuff to minipulate their way. They have for years. Anything to say ha ha I am right and you are wrong.

The better measurable is against top oppenents what did they do?

What they did against no names does not matter.
If we don't develop a line that can open up some running lanes, I don't care if we draft Godzilla..... He's gonna get swallowed up in the backfield just like the others have been.

While not Godzilla. Barry Sanders in his prime would look legendary. The lions oline was terrible.
There's already a Cook / Fournette thread in the proper forum:

Quote:... I think he's got some Fred Taylor to him.

He has zero of Fred's lateral agility. Fred made guys miss in the backfield with that hop-step to the side religiously and Fournette has no such move.

His upright style gets him tripped up easily at the line when opposing defenses get quick penetration.  That's really the only knock on him though, and he'd be absolutely deadly behind a top-ten run-blocking line.
You people, I swear. I say I think Fournette has SOME Fred Taylor in him, and you freak!

I see the 230lb 4.4 speed and see someone built similar to Fred Taylor. His injury history reminds me of Fred Taylor. Sue me. Also, there's likely less than 20 RBs all time who had the lateral movement abilities Fred Taylor did, so cut the crap Tongue

Fournette would be the closest thing this team has had to Fred Taylor since we had Fred Taylor. Sign me up.

Edit: NYC, I see your point. I think a caveat to drafting Fournette at 4 would be how heavily we spend on the Oline in FA.

Exactly. Cook far as bounces off defenders is more like fred.

No he is useless without steam. So no not close to fred. We have one like that see Ivory.

It's like NYC said. Fournette needs a great run blocking line. I want this team to have an oline comparable to 07 Jags, and have Fournette running behind it. That combined with our WRs might make Bortles look good.
