Fournette in 1st and Mixon in 2nd?

Taylor and Banks were drafted by Coughlin in 98.

Freeman in the 3rd.

We can have 5 RBs out there.  No need for receivers.

Doubtful.

Taylor and Banks WERE drafted in 1998.

Two big distinctions to remember, though:

1)  Taylor was taken in the first while Banks was taken in the 4th in 1998.  Under your speculation/guess, LF and Mixon go 1-2 in the Jaguars' draft.

2)  That 1998 draft was the result of a trade that netted the Jaguars extra first and fourth round picks in that draft.  They had the extra ammo with which to stock up on RBs-an already deep position on the team.  Barring something unforeseen this year, the Jaguars won't have the extra picks, which likely makes each pick a need priority.

Good point.
Cook should, and will go ahead of Fournette when the draft rolls around.  Cook, with his abilities in the passing game, is way better for today's NFL.   Besides that, Cook is just more fun to watch.

The Cook bandwagon really is something.

Fournette is good in the passing game too (albeit not quite as good as Cook), but he can pass-block way better.  Fournette has better character and way better ball safety.  You also don't need to take him out on short yardage situations since he obviously has way more power.  I love Cook's talent and it's a good debate, but I don't get why people think Cook is that much better.

I certainly can't see anything to explain it, other than regional bias.  I don't even consider Cook as "better," though they are both outstanding prospects.

Both have top 10/15 talent for sure and one could go top 4, but yeah I think Fournette is more of the guy you give it to 20-25 times a game and can punish defenses, whereas Cook is the guy you aim for around 15 times or so a game to keep him fresh (i.e. Charles) and have him rotate with a bigger back.

He won't.
Cook is better.
Quote:If I would compare cook to anyone it is Taylor.

<p style="font-size:26px;">100% of multiple All-Pro and Pro Bowl RBs since the 1999 NFL Draft Class had a 7.09 3-Cone or less.

Cook    3 cone -  7.27

Edit:  Demarco Murray was over, trying to find more

Not to mention both FBs beat him in the 20 shuttle that weigh 20lbs more

Dalvin Cook: 7.27 3-cone 4.53 shuttle

Garett Bolles: 7.29 3-cone 4.55 shuttle

When I watch Fournette run I think of myself as the DB trying to stop him and I would feel like I'm gonna get hit by a truck. THAT is the guy I want.

Wow... hopefully this can knock cook to the second round lol

Thats over rated.   Cook played top level talent and smoked um.

Meh, I wouldn't even take him there. Conley or White or Obi will be available...or maybe even Feeney if we're lucky. Any of them + a 3rd or 4th round RB would be better for the team.
