Quote:i know it's not over. but we had the chance to get a once-in-a-lifetime talent on the DL and we didnt even try!
imagine this DL:
Bryant
Suh
Marks/Miller(whoever is healthy)
Fowler
By the way, there's nothing indicating we didn't even try on Suh.
Once in a lifetime? He's not even the best defensive lineman in the NFL right now nevermind in a lifetime.
Quote:thanks, Dave Caldwell
thank you for breaking the bank to get an OL who has started a grand total of 7 games over 4 or 5 seasons.
thank you for re-signing Alualu
thank you for not even trying to get Suh
thank you
If this holds true by next week this time, I'll join you. Until then...my head is going back in the sand

Yeah. We didn't really want him anyway.
Hey guys...
Pass the grapes
Quote:The Kismet remark was in jest. Maybe to what Khans priorities are. Well, we know that. Making money. He has certainly proved that.
We've been linked to just about every high prized FA, including Thomas, McCourty, and Murray. Possibly Suh. I don't know how you can tell Khan's priorities based on some of those players not wanting to come to this team.
As was discussed before the FA period started, there's at least 20 teams with cap space to burn. We can't help if they prefer to play somewhere else, for whatever reason.

because the only other guy on the DL that is better than him is another once-in-a-lifetime talent
Watt
Suh
everyone else

Suh is a really good player and I wouldn't have objected to signing him but calling him a once in a lifetime player is severly overstating his value.

Per a league source today, the Jaguars were “never in,”
contention to sign Detroit defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
Per a league source today, the Jaguars were "never in",
contention to win a Super Bowl in 2014.
See the similarity?
Some of you guys are just too predictable.
On the other hand...
Was told by a league source that #Jaguars never had interest in OT Bryan Bulaga. After Jermey Parnell all along.
See the difference?

well, I mean, why would we be interested in the best pass blocking RT on the market?

How many other teams made bids? No one besides Detroit.
Why? Because he was already locked up with Miami.
We made a huge run at McCourty but he didn't want to leave so he took less to play in NE.

And we were probably minutes away from McCourty when NE pulled the trigger and offered more
Quote:No he isn't. He's 27 and has a lot mileage on him.
Not really...he only had a lot of carries this past season.
At the same age, Fred Taylor had 400 more career carries. Over the next 4 years, he gained over 4k yards. Some backs do break down after that many carries at that age, some don't.
