Quote:JJ watt scored more TD's that my fantasy RB... He deserves to win the MVP this year.

On the other hand, his team didn't even make the playoffs.

Pretty tough to make the argument that he's so valuable that his team couldn't even win its own division.
That is like trying to give duke johnson the heisman

Quote:Yup, because that's exactly what I said. SMH, you're proving my point.

Furthermore: have you watched Watt play?

You implied it... if you have a problem with something I said, refute it instead of sitting behind implications. If that isn't what you said, then how am I "proving your point"?

Of course I've watched Watt play. I love watching him play. Have you read any of my previous posts about him?
A couple points from me: he is the league MVNQB (Most Valuable Non QB). He is probably the best player in the league, but you could swap Watt with any of 8-10 QBs on the Texans and without question they win more games and probably make the playoffs. That alone means he isn't the most valuable player in the league.

Secondly, I loved Watt the last two years when the rest of the media and the refs (and Watt himself for that matter) didn't know he was the best defensive player in the NFL. Now he gets the Michael Jordan rules. He whines at the refs constantly and gets many a phantom holding call, he is allowed to hit QBs illegally high or low or late and never gets called for it, he often gets hands up in the face of the opposing lineman and it never gets called, etc.

Phantom holding calls (they are phantom, because they almost never happen), credibility lost. LOL, Colt fans have come on to our site and apologized for the non holding calls. You're also full of it with the whole hands to the face stuff, that doesn't happen either.

Jordan rules?.. The guy was getting tackled which is the reason for a lot of low hits when it happens near the QB. Micheal Jordan rules... That's a new one. Sour grapes much? If the officials actually called holding every time Watt was held the Texans would've won more games. The officials let people get away with murder at times, lineman would literally tackle him.
Voted number 1 player for 2015 by the players.  Lol, made me think of this thread.  Some of the posters on this board [Image: facepalm_80_anim_gif.gif]

I think the HGH should be talked about. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

The same list that is catching a lot of flack for having Brees too low?

smh indeed.

No way man, J.J. Watt i just a "try-hard".
I can see crystal clear. He plays like a man possessed. He's been a dominant force since his rookie year and he only continues to improve. As long as he's healthy he's going to crush records. I haven't seen a pass rusher like him since I was a kid when Bruce Smith was wrecking QB's off his side of the field.

My opinion stands. Watt is a great player, but he was overrated last year by a lot of people. He dominated horrible Olines in the AFC south for more than half of his stats. Look at the non AFCS games, the guy's numbers are good but not world beating.

At least some on here formed their own opinion and stuck to it, rather than using a list of rankings to make their mind up for them.

Your opinion is stupid, prove he listed half his stats against horrible Olines and how can you be "overrated" coming off a season where you just accomplished something that's never been done? Your posts come off as buyer's remorse as in drafting Gabbert instead of Watt.. Give credit where credit is do..at least the players who play in the NFL have.

People who knock his accomplishments because he took advantage of weaker Olines (which all players face over a 16 game schedule, but not all players do) are just hating. You act like what Watt did last season was just a every day occurrence and it makes you look ignorant.. Give credit where credit is due and stop knocking other people for waking up and having a change of opinion instead of just being stubborn and wrong no matter what the man does. #Hater's gonna hate

I can't believe I'm gonna waste my time with this. I mean, your post clearly shows you have a hurt feeler or two, and I know that whatever I say is going to be the equivalent to talking to a potato, but what the hell, I'll give it the old college try.

JJ Watt, again, is a very good football player. Never disputed that; you made that one up in your noggin. What I said, was that he was overrated and should not be considered the best player in the NFL. Best defender in the NFL? Meh, sure. Maybe. It's certainly a better argument. Tom Brady, you know, the guy who just won another Super Bowl, is the best player in the game until he walks away.

Try and pay attention now, I'm only doing this once. Watt had 20.5 sacks last season; 12 of which were against AFC south opponents. It's no secret that the offensive lines were putrid in the AFCS last year; 6 of those 12 sacks came against the Jags. Another four (that's 10 total, keep up) were against the tacks, who also boasted a crappy Oline and rookie QB. In his non-divisional games, he was held to no sacks in 4 different contests. He did force 4 fumbles, which is pretty damn good.

Now, I done led the horse to water. If you wanna flail around and call people haters and use lame hash tags then fine, but you're not gonna win anyones favor or change anyone's mind. This is a Jaguars forum, after all. Hashtag smiley face.

Stoped reading after the first paragraph.. Of course QBs are more important (they touch the ball every snap) which is why he won MVP, But is he the best player? No he is not.. There are other QBs that put up similar stats with different results..nobody in the NFL distanced themselves from their positional group like Watt did. He literally had a part in winning every game we won. Unlike Rodgers please name another player who remotely came close to doing what we did? You can't.. Which is why you're "weak Oline" argument is complete crap and just comes off as haterade

Try and pay attention now..Because I'm only going to do this once

Sacks don't even make up half of the stats which is why I question if you even watch the games.. There's things like QB hits/pressures, tackles for loss, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, interceptions, tackles, and touchdowns. You're so hung up on sacks, it's absurd.. If that's all that mattered Justin Houston would've been DPOY

Rodgers by position is the MVP, however that doesn't mean he's the best player in the league, nobody dominated from their positional group like Watt did last year/annual history, so to call what he did overrated because you believe your Oline sucks is childish and is straight hating.

But hey don't worry, he's only 26..so there's still plenty of time for him to win another DPOY, MVP, or record another 20+ sack season

Wow.. Looky there, not all the highlights came against the Jags and Titans.

I'm kinda surprised you made it that far.

Lol, that's the type of response I expect from someone who is on the losing end of a debate and has no argument

It's like I originally said; I'm not gonna waste time arguing with someone who's clearly a few brain cells away from being a potato. So, you win. Totally pwned me there brotha.
