Quote:Is it enough though?

If its about the bottom line, then yes. Its almost impossible for any team to show a loss in today's league. And for any team to do it they would have to open up their books, which every owner would be against.
Quote:I was under the impression that with the TV money that teams split up, it was almost impossible for teams to lose money on their bottom line. Correct or incorrect?
This is correct. Tickets sales are the major local revenue generator but pale in comparison to the television  contract money.
The London game pulls in most of the profit for the year i believe they said.

Quote:then no team would ever relocate?

Every team to date has relocated due to stadium issues. Not loss of income or attendance.

Not over profit/loss. Stadium issues? Absolutely.

hmm, alright.  So attendance is irrelevant?  I mean, it's ridic bad right now and is a likely indicator of future ticket sales.

The TV money from the three year deal they are presently on pays the player salaries for almost a decade. Look at it that way.

If they move at this point from lack of support, it's their own fault for putting crap on the field. The fans are there. Whether they out up with it will remain to be seen.

Attendance isn't bad. I just provided you a link showing you were we stand compared to the rest of the league. We are currently outdrawing Detroit, Pittsburgh and Arizona along with 6 other teams.
Quote:What does it take?  The team will need to buy out of the lease and Khan would need to open his books showing a loss for a few years.

Look around.... That is certainly happening this year if you look at the stands.  This team cant be making a profit.  I mean, I would be extremely surprised if it is.

Also, consider all the equipment and renovations (locker room, sound system, video board) that Khan has spent money on.  That will result in a TON of depreciation expense on the books, which will only add to the loss.  Perhaps that was part of the plan.

wouldnt even make sense to consider him buying out of the lease and relocating after all the money he just spent on renovations.
Team is 20th in home attendance with the London game. Not the best and not the worst. Hey we need something to complain about right?

Ok, but like many here assume, the team struggling was expected.  Rookie coach, rookie GM, rookies everywhere, ect. "What did you expect?"

So maybe this was the plan:  field a bad bad team and get such a lack of support that the team can relocate.  Think Major League but without stars like Jake Taylor, Willie Mays Hayes, Ricky Vaughn, and Pedro Cerrano.

part of my point is that the renovations were a way to rack up expenses that hurt the bottom line, but hey im probably wrong.

I think you are
Winning cures everything. All the Jags have to do is show the people that they can win more than they lose and the fans will flock to the experience of being a part of a winner. When the Jags are winning and you are part of the crowd at the game, there is almost nothing quite like the experience. Khan knows this and so he must focus on developing a winner and everything will take care of itself.

I am going to be serious, Are you drunk right now?

The numbers don't seem to match up to what you see on gameday.  Even if the numbers are good, like you say, consider the bad fan turnouts and how that indicates future sales.

I agree.  If you ask me for my unbiased opinion, I'd say this team is far from doing that for probably another 2-3 years.

and that's IF Bortles turns out to be any good.  If he's a bust.... well, the team is probably 5 years away.

Not really, but the attendance (or lack thereof) has me a little worried.

Which still wouldn't matter. We could only have 30k average attendance next year and it still would be almost impossible to show fiscal loss with how big the revenue pie is now. That's what you're failing to understand.

Don't worry. If you are, do what you can (buy some tickets) if you don't already. Once you have done that it is out of your control. Nothing can change that. Cannot worry about things we have no control over.
