You are late to the party. When C'mon Jags made up a nickname with the number 97, I thought that's it, anything with the year 1997 would do the trick. Keeping the word Jaguars actually was one of my ideas and clearly the most popular.

I'm not sure if the following was mentioned yet, as this is a long thread:
If you are concerned about people reading the MB knowing how old you are, the number 97 could cause you difficulty. Many reading your user name are going to think you were born in 1997 and will only turn 18 in 2015. Especially people that are new to the MB.

I was 20 in 1997 and am 37 now. My age has never been a secret. You did bring up a good point though because every year we get new members. Let's see if anyone gets confused during the username preview period.

Being that 1997 doesn't stand out in Jaguars history, my guess is most new members are going to think that you were born in 1997. If you mention on your profile that people can see each time you post that you have been a Jaguars fan since 1997, that should take care of the potential confusion in most cases.

Actually it
does stand out in Jaguars history. That was the year we went to Denver and beat the AFC's top seed after being called "Jagwads." I know everybody says "1996 playoffs" but correct English grammar is to say "1997 playoffs."

Technically, you are correct. Yet, most people, including myself, view that particular season as the 1996 season. The vast majority of the season took place in 1996.
If you poll 100 people that follow the Jaguars and/ or Broncos to the extent that they know the key results of that season, I would be surprised if even 20 people thought of that season as the 1997 season.

I wouldn't worry about using 1997.
It's a significant number to you because that's when your fandom was born.

Only D6 was worried about the numbers. The year 1997 seems to be insignificant in Jaguars history because most people say 1996 when they talk about "the biggest playoff upset since Super Bowl 3."
Because most people don't want me to change it, the most logical thing to do is simply replace Woman with Lady. Adding a number to the end makes whatever nickname people want to give me mean something.
Consider the name in preview mode. It is my member title until the change becomes official.

I don't call it the 1997 season. I view the regular season as 1996 too, just not the playoffs, which start in January.
I think that's good because you can't say JaguarsLady1997 without spelling cat.
