If my username is not JaguarsWoman, there is no reason to keep Jdub as my nickname because it is based on the letters JW. So a new nickname must be created if I change my username.

Nicknames are known to follow people to the grave and probably beyond.

 

That's just the way nicknames are.

 

If one doesn't like their nickname, they can either learn to like/accept it or just ignore it, hoping it could possibly go away from being ignored.

 

Of course, if one does somehow get a new nickname, there is no guarantee that they will like it any better then the old nickname.

 

It could be worse.

I need to make sure people are willing to stop calling me Jdub before picking a new username. People can vote or recommend other usernames until the regular season is over.

But Jdub does have to be retired if I change my username, even if you don't create a new nickname to replace it. Without the letter W in my username, there would be no reason to keep calling me Jdub because it is based on that. You don't need a handbook to figure that out.

I got another idea: FerociousFelines, my nickname for the Jaguars defense. A nickname for that could be Fefe or Ferfel  Or you could call me a synonym of feline, Kitty.

Think of old school hollywood detective movies where there is always a beautiful woman that usually ends up getting the hero into big trouble...but looking fabulous while doing it. Or Jessica Rabbit...

I never watch old Hollywood detective movies, so that would not fit me.

 

I thought Fatale was for "fatal tale."

HB, do you really think that one would be allowed here? Religious conversations are off limits, so I assume putting Jesus is my username would be too.

I don't think it would be an issue, since I meant Jesus in the Dominican Republic sense, not the Biblical one.  But you never know.  It might be best to play it safe.

That may be true, but does not mean what people do is right. Unfortunately people think what they should do is irrelevant if no written rules exist. I have no problemn with a nickname sticking forever if I like it and it makes sense even after something changes. But Jdub would not make any sense after a change is made, so people are wrong to think they should keep calling me that. If people keep calling me Jdub, it is only to maintain the status quo for their benefit because we are creatures of habit. People need to think about this: Are they calling me Jdub because they want to or because I respond positively to it?
