Quote:I don't think anyone can judge Blackmon until he has a competent QB throwing him the ball, is he Josh Gordon? Of course not, but he's incredibly talented player that dominated the division one level for two years, and flashed dominance against the Texans in 2012, and the Broncos in 2013, all while playing a position that usually requires 2-3 years for players to come into their own.
Cecil Shorts has had the same exact QB's Blackmon had. If you can't judge Blackmon because of QB play, then you can't judge Cecil either.

Who's judging Cecil? You lost me.

For the record I think Cecil is a really good player, hampered by injuries and bad QB play.
Quote:The fact that Justin Blackmon put up 800+ yards as a rookie on bad offense quarterbacked by Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne negates any "Blackmon isn't talented" arguments.
This. If it was almost any other QB (including rookies like Bortles or Bridgewater), Blackmon passes the 1000+ yard mark easily.

A lot of people on this board, most of who don't want him resigned. Sorry if I blanketed that to you.
Blackmon does not have the speed to take the top off, the routerunning to get open, or the verticality to consistently reel in the 50/50 jump ball. He does have the strength to beat press coverage, the knack to come back to the ball, and the ability to rack up YAC. He's a possession receiver, however he exhibits mental mistakes and drops uncharacteristic of a top 5 pick. Blackmon is not a #1

Antonio Brown is undersized receiver that ran a 4.6, you don't need speed to be a true #1.

C'mon man!! If this guy comes back he is instantly a #1 guy!! Is this Ryan?

Precise route running at this level takes time and many reps, I'm sorry you don't have a valid argument.
Does anyone have any actual quotes or can state the reasoning he gave? O'Hallaran's not an idiot and usually has some reason behind his opinion.
He's been pretty right on, so far, regarding Ace Sanders.
Oh - and people on here saying O'Hallaran is an idiot - priceless.
Quote:C'mon man!! If this guy comes back he is instantly a #1 guy!! Is this Ryan?
Exactly, anoter guy enamored with speed. If you want speed trade for the great Darrius Heyward Bey.

he came with "inside info" and was wrong
He was positive that we would draft Watkins if we stayed at 3.
Ryan O'hallaran Jags32250 doesn't think Justin Blackmon Ryan O'hallaran is very good.
Blackmon is good, definitely not great. With his physicality he could be a very good Z/#2 to Arob's X/#1. Those two with Marqise being used properly in the slot could be an incredibly good WR corps.
P.S. Yes, I am saying Arob is better than Blackmon but that's not the point here.

What's funny is Watkins and Blackmon are similar players, Justin might be the better overall athlete.

Yeah the Jags can't wait to get their
#2 WR back.... C'mon man...

Well, his name is "Haterade"

Watkins has the next gear Blackmon doesn't have, he also runs good routes, and has more consistent hands

Far better routerunner, shiftier, and less mental mistakes

Yeah, I'm sorry but there isn't any truth in this sentence whatsoever.
