Quote:O'Halloran strikes me as potentially the 40 year old virgin. I saw him at the BW3 at the Avenues Mall a few months ago. He was sitting by himself at the bar, wearing his oversized Hawaiian shirt, cargo shorts and sneakers, whoofing down some hot wings. I doubt he could handle a lady without an instruction manual.

Funny you mentioned that because I used to see David Lamm sitting on a bar stool all the time like he was the king of Jax !!! I kept thinking ... "dude, you need to be studying stats or getting updated info" since he always just talked about the same topics without doing any research. L A Z Y
Quote:I believe he is eligible to apply for reinstatement on Nov. 1. I don't think anyone on this board said he was actually going to. I'm not sure any in the organization, let alone on this board, know when he is going to apply for reinstatement, though the general consensus is that he will.
He was eligible to apply for reinstatement 30 days prior to the 1 yr aniverserary of his letter of suspension. So 30 days prior to Nov 1st.. But as he was and probably still is in rehab he would not apply untill he finishes the program. He was half way through a month ago not sure how long it takes to get cleaned up.
Quote:Uh yea, like most young receivers, the only people that think he's overrated are the ones that expect a young WR to play like Jerry Rice in his 2nd year.
and the only ones who think hes elite after an average rookie season and a small stretch of good games are delusional.

Nice!
I expect Blackmon to reinstate and be ready for the 2015 nil season. He won't come back to the number 1,2, or even the 3rd WR. He will start at the bench and work his way up if he wants his job back, if not we have to move on as a franchise. We have to show him its not easy to play WR or any position in the NFL and your job is always at risk. If he can't seem to get that in his head he doesn't belong on this team or the NFL. But Shad has kept him on the team for a reason and I believe its because he sees him coming back to make an positive impact. They say no one can really talk to him but i beg to differ. There is always a way to talk to someone whether its a private meeting or what it is and since Blackmon has checked into rehab and is half way through it seems to me that he is making a push to come back. Plus we have him for 3 more years so its not bad. I mean if he was there playing great for henne or gabbert we wouldn't have bortles so why not all of us fans hope him the best and hopefully he comes back at full form. Remember everyone is different and we don't know whats going on through his mind and maybe drugs was his way of keeping things together. But that being said who's with me, am i wrong or am i right or am i partially right and wrong. I would love to read your feedbacks.
One of the position coaches who happens to come in my place from time to time told me no one is in contact with JB. He said he won't reply to other player's text messages either. So who knows what's going through his head. Either extreme focus on getting rehabbed or he only speaks to his agent.

Thats it. What if he is speaking to his agent and someone in the organization is talking to his agent. I mean come on no way they don't know whats going on with Blackmon and for the team to have no contact with him i don't understand that part at all. He needs help and what better way to help other than rehab if we get the coaches, GM, owner to talk to him, maybe they can put some sense in his head.
Justin Blackmon is the only Jags receiver outside of Jimmy Smith that I've seen completely dominate and take over a game.
It really doesn't make sense to prevent him from team activities or contact since what he needs to rehab is some structure in his life. Had he been participating in team activities instead of sitting on his couch in Oklahoma he may have been able to avoid the temptation of the weed.

I like your optimism, but there's a third possibility.

So you think he would come to work for free?

Working for free now will pay of in the future buddy. I would love to play in the NFL even if it was for free, money sometimes blinds people.
Ryan O is a moron. However I do agree Blackmon is a bit over rated. Hes not a number 1 type reciever. But hes a solid WR 2. Nothing wrong with that. I didnt know his contract was put on hold when he got suspended, so the team will get a 2 year trial on him if they so choose. Pretty excited to see the recieving core next year.
Clearly Blackmon pissed in his wheaties. He even had the nerve to call a caller an idiot on air because they disagreed and didn't know his name.
What a complete blowhard.
Quote:The Jags media coverage is a joke. It's seriously a bunch of bums and Mike Dempsey who is the only one worth a crap really.
Agreed. Pete Prisco being fired killed me. Sports radio 930 is now just a bunch of bums who don't say anything, and 1010XL is filled with SEC homers, a Jag announcer who loves everything Pittsburgh (Frank Frangie) , and a creep with Ryan the hacker Green. Frangie's announcing during games is just terrible. They all (1010XL) seem like nice guys on air (except Hacker), but they really seem like they don't know much about the game and are way to unrealistic about the Jags.

Prisco is great on the radio. And he's only on on Monday evening with Tony and JP Shadrack.
When I saw the pic of Blackmon at the Jags/Chargers game, that showed he still cares about the team.I'm hoping he still has a desire to return to the game.
As far as JB only at the 3rd or 4th WR in the rotation to start with next year,Bologna.Even with his hiatus,he immediately would be better than what we have, except possibly ARob.
Blackmon, Blackmon...
Wow. There are so many things that can be said about this guy both positive and negative. No one posting on this board knows what JB is going to do or what his future holds. Since there has been little communication between the team and JB it's unclear what his intentions are. He is a guy who is dealing with addictions and the consequences of those addictions. Does he still want to play professional football? Can he still function at the high level as a receiver that he had in the past? Is the team still actually interested in him playing here, or are they just holding his contract to prevent him from going someplace else and 'lighting it up'? Is he even in shape?.... we don't know. Any opinion offered where Blackmon is concerned is merely speculation....
I would be highly dubious of the possibility that he could come back demonstrating the same level of play he had. The man has chemically abused himself and that has physical and mental consequences. Nevertheless, one should be very slow to say impossible. The onus is on JB himself; what does he want to do now? We don't know...

Or maybe he was just bored and killing time waiting on his "hook up" to deliver him some of that California sticky icky.
