Quote:Agreed. Pete Prisco being fired killed me. Sports radio 930 is now just a bunch of bums who don't say anything, and 1010XL is filled with SEC homers, a Jag announcer who loves everything Pittsburgh (Frank Frangie) , and a creep with Ryan the hacker Green. Frangie's announcing during games is just terrible. They all (1010XL) seem like nice guys on air (except Hacker), but they really seem like they don't know much about the game and are way to unrealistic about the Jags.
Anybody really listen to 930 anymore?
Lol, Blackmon when playing was a beast...and because of his issues and not playing for a while he's turned into a WR2, WR3, WR4.....hilarious.
I do agree with the people that say he will come back and have to work his way up, but he's a number one...no questions.

There are a few announcers on 1010 that are not SEC homers....in fact, they are FSU fans.
My point was the NFL suspension protocol is not conducive to rehabbing. In Blackmon's case, as others, it seems to me it would be better for him to be a part of the team but not be able to play. He's already been paid his guaranteed money so it's not that he's working for free.
As it is now, he is left to deal with his addiction on his own without assistance from his NFL "family".

Looking thru history of players who have been away from the game for some time for suspension or other reasons doesn't bode well for Blackmon returning to form. And maybe that's what O'Hallaran was trying to get at.

Quote:Working for free now will pay of in the future buddy. I would love to play in the NFL even if it was for free, money sometimes blinds people.
Sounds nice and rosy and all, but the players union would never allow for it.
Quote:Ryan O'Halloran is an idiot.
He was so matter-of-factly wrong about the draft too. He made fun of people saying we'll draft a QB.
He's supposed to be a reporter, gathering and writing about what he gathers, not some pundit. When the beat writers start becoming too opinionated they blur their objectivity with the players and fans and morph into another Vito or Bent Hubcamp, the type of writer who gets ornery that a coach doesn't give him the time of day.
Quote:Clearly Blackmon [BAD WORD REMOVED] in his wheaties. He even had the nerve to call a caller an idiot on air because they disagreed and didn't know his name.
What a complete blowhard.
Yeah, I thought that was completely.... odd, I'll say.
Plus, it seemed every time Dempsey pressed him to give a straightforward answer, he vacillated.

Ah, poor baby. So, if one of your employees is a doper you'd be glad to have him come by your place of employment - you know, just to hang out?
He's away from the team so he can get his stuff together. He's supposed to want to come back to his "family". If he's not doing what he needs to do perhaps he doesn't really care about his "family".
By the way - he already has a real family.
Every time we discuss shorts someone pipes up with the best ability is availability
by that logic blackmon sucks donkey balls

O'Hallaran???? Lol that u called them doper too... u should call them reefers from now on.... then people will understand exactly how out of touch u are.

Dan Patrick's show is pretty stellar and honest. Yet, of course he's syndicated. Modica, Prisco's replacement, doesn't talk about anything...ever. Just a bunch of "Uhhhh, well, uhhhhh, the Jaguars tried. Let's take calls. (Caller says something, Modica replies) "Uhh, yeah. Next caller."

I understand what you are trying to say, but you have to consider at this point, he has been offered by the league the best possible treatment available yet he has chosen to ignore it.
This wasn't his first mistake, this has been like his third or fourth mistake. The league has accepted the fact that he has refused to accept or abide by the treatment offered for free.
It's been on him for a while. You can't blame the league for the fact he has chosen not to accept his problems. Sometimes the best thing you can do for a person is to refuse to give them futile help.
I just listened to that crackhead on that show saying that and what he said is personal for some reason. From here on out his opinion and anything he writes is trash. I don't care about Blackmon but to say he isn't good at all is stupid.
I remember when everyone was calling Pete Prisco an idiot when he predicted the Jags would go 4 and 12.

I think he proved that he was on his way to being good, if he could have kept it together.
I don't think it's at all obvious that after having missed two seasons, he's going to come back and be the same guy.
So I listened to the radio show from that day. Ryan didn't call the guy an idiot for not agreeing with him. He called him an idiot because the guy had been listening to the whole show and didn't know Ryan's name.
We're all now waiting for the reinstatement

Not necessarily, he just choose not to address him by name. Regardless, don't you think the reaction was over the top?
Quote:I remember when everyone was calling Pete Prisco an idiot when he predicted the Jags would go 4 and 12.
Yep. I insisted we'd win six at the least and thought he was being too tough on the Jags offseason improvements.
Ugh.
(I don't think O'Halloran's Blackmon bash is on par with Prisco's prediction though. Sadly - we may never know.)
