Quote:Barry Switzer barely even counts here. That Dallas case was rare. A trained monkey could have won with that Dallas team those first few years post Jimmy Johnson. He was not really a disciplinarian, but he also didn't come off as someone who tolerated losing either. He wasn't passive.
But what credibility did he have with the team when he got there?

The players hated the move initially.

All of the "white house" stuff blew up under Switzer.

Later, Aikman said Switzer was needed because he backed off of the team.

But your post raises another issue.

Basically what you are saying is that, given the right amount of talent, the coaching equivalent of a trained monkey can win, irrespective of post game press conferences.

You said earlier that Green, Ditka and Mora won not because of press conference tirades, but because of the talent on their teams.

Now you are saying that Switzer won because of the talent.
Given the fact that the stuff falling out of your mouth and the stuff that comes out of my [BLEEP] appears the same, yes it was difficult to decipher.

Quote:Yes....the words "soft"/ "Players buddy" were describing the coaches I was referring to, not the players. It shouldn't have been that difficult to decipher.
If that was the Jaguars last night and O'Brien was our coach, you better believe MadDog would be in here complaining.  But since it's not us and our rival, oh well he's just a wonderful coach and nothing is his fault.

Yes, given THAT amount of talent that the 1995 Cowboys had, even a trained monkey (Switzer) could win

Now, we both know that teams assembling THAT level of talent is quite rare, as was that situation as usually consecutive winning superbowl coaches don't get fired, hence its an outlier...., but yes, I'm sure you'll spin that the way you want....

He apparently learned from the best.

Huh?

What about Bill Callahan?

Remember the rant he threw about the "dumbest team in America?"

Did that press conference convey his anger and frustration with the team?

Did that press conference convey that he would not tolerate losing?

Did that press conference salvage that season?

Did that press conference salvage his job with the Raiders?

Did similar press conferences salvage his job with Nebraska?
Remember when Mularkey got visibly mad on the sideline and threw the clipboard?  Our season turned around quickly after that.

Quote:I don't see much of it.

I see him standing there with his hands on his knees with the blank stare.

....or clapping after yet another 3 & out or TD given up.

Well then you aren't paying attention
Well, if you people like the status quo with Bradley clapping on the sidelines after every 3 & out and TD given up, be my guest.

If you like listening to the same "we just gotta keep getting better" [BLEEP] and no anger displayed in post game pressers after loss and loss piles up, be my guest too....

Those are only a few symptoms, yes, (theres lots more that support/ suggest this following claim will prove true but - I for one don't see Bradley as having what it takes to be a successful head coach here.

If he is clapping after every TD given up, he has only clapped three times the last three games.

Yeah....you actually have to look intimidating for it to have an effect. Mularkey was all uncoordinated and looked ridiculous in that example.

So then you were wrong?

When you labeled him as a potential "coaching superstar," and ranking him 6th amongst all possible head coaching candidates here, you were wrong?

Yep, but I'm surprised his hands didn't fall off after the first 4.

Really? you don't say? We never would have guessed. Please quit accepting the mediocrity and pull the only thing you do as far as the Jags are concerned and quit posting. I think the team might survive the financial hit your  lost clicks here might generate.

O'Brien's team gave up as many TD's in a three minute span last night as Bradley's team has the last three games.

But that press conference doe.

ad hominem, but yes I was dead wrong in suggesting this guy. He's not panning out. We saw harbingers of it as soon as we saw his Coordinator choices.
Burn. Like when he pees
