Quote:Does everyone write paragraphs on this thread? Geesh.

lol, The Jags are 0-6 (and counting) this season and Gus is 4-18 in his first 22 games as head coach, which is the worst start ever for a Jags head coach and your complaint is that everyone writes paragraphs on this thread?

The frustrations from not having a winning season or making the playoffs since 2007, combined with all the losing, getting blownout too many times and just not showing enough improvement to show it could change anytime soon, just can't be summed up in a sentence or two.

Khan is a winner. He hasn't gotten to where he is by accepting mediocrity (or worse).

Thanks for the long response.
Gus comes back regardless.  He may be the best recruiter that we have.

The only change I could see is that coming directly from the coaching staff (e.g. Gus gets rid of the DC or other coach).  I could also see us hiring an Asst. Head Coach that actually has experience.

 Two sentences. Too many?
Khan will react without emotion.  He will be analytical.   He will look at the big picture.  He will examine results against what he was told to expect by Dave and Gus.  He will look to see if the plan they all agreed on is still being followed, and if it still makes sense.  He will think about what it will mean to start over once again with yet another new HC and GM.   He will consult with outsiders he trusts.

My guess is that he will remain patient and give Gus and Dave another year.

I can foresee a change in the offensive line coach and the secondary coach.

But that's just me sitting in the stands.  Gus Bradley and Dave Caldwell are the ones who watch these assistants coach every day, and they are the ones who know whether these coaches are any good or not.  They won't fire someone just to appease the fans.
Gus won't be fired, unless maybe we actually do go 0-16 which we won't. Next year we will finally push some weight around in the FA market (not just RFA against the only team in a better cap situation than us), and we will compete for a wild card (not necessarily win it though).

What exactly does Bradley personally bring to the table?

In business? Yes.

In sports franchise success?? The results have been horrid so far, in both cases.

The only thing Bradley brings to the table is being a Tony Robbins wannabe.

As an x's and o's football coach, and game management, he literally brings ZERO to the table.
I think very patient. I don't think Caldwell and Bradley wouldn't have come here with out the knowledge of knowing they would have ample time to work. That tells me Khan has the knowledge this this will be a process.

Khan is a businessman and a billionaire. He understands he doesn't measure progress in days or weeks but in quarters and years. He really gets what's going on. I feel he has all the patiences in the world
Quote:you also don't have a great success starting as many rookies as they are either...How many rookies did they start last week? 6? I believe that's correct, so in other words, over half the starting offense were playing college ball last year...It's hard to make an argument that 6 rookies starting against 6 seasoned vets (assumably) is going to turn out well...

How many years has it been said before the rookies actually start to be productive? I do believe that magic number was said to be 3 many times on this board...Year 2 you should see improvement from rookies, year 3 they should be solid or at least productive...

Caldwell pretty much gutted the roster hoping that the drafted players all come into their prime at the same time...The owner knew what to expect, the GM knew what to expect, the HC knew what to expect, and the fans claimed to know what to expect...I remember this very board was pretty much in support of Caldwell's plan and agreed that year 3 would be the tell tale year, but as usual, the same people have flip flopped and declared that this year should be the year

How much better do you honestly think year 3 will look?

That depends on what upgrades are made to the coaching staff, if any.

I also dont think dave and gus planned on winning 4 or their first 22 games

Maybe not or maybe they did. I do know Khan didn't make his billions in two years either. He understands there is a process associated with 99% of things that yield returns.

They may have well known we would be 0-16 this year. They may also know it will possibly take 3-4 more years to build. If you as a fan expects something that's your expectation. But let's not silly here. They had talks and I'm sure no one in that building was blind sided by this.

I'm not able to see into the future but...It only stands to reason with more experience comes better play...How much better did you think we would be with so many rookies starting? How much better did you think a nearly brand new roster would play? How much better did you think a mix of rookies and un drafted free agents would play? When you put our roster up against almost every other team, the other team has years of experience, so just how much better did you think we could be with such an inexperienced team vs seasoned veterans (for the most part)?

I didnt expect it to go well. My guess is caldwell didnt either. My question is why we chose to build this way? This regime doesnt seem to understand that you have to put the best product you can on the field every year. This is pro sports, not UF.

How Khan made his money is completely irrelevant. He has shown impatience with his soccer club. Stands to reason he wont let this travesty go on much longer.

And before you say "soccer is different", if this were his soccer club, gus would have been gone last year.

It has been said a bazillion times by Caldwell...He IS NOT building for RIGHT NOW...He's building for the FUTURE...By getting all these rookies at once, they will all come into their prime at the same time which wich means none of this ok we are set at LT now we need a center and RG (for example only) and then the next draft get one or two more pieces so by the time the first draft pick enters his prime, there are 2 or 3 more rookies on the line or need to be drafted and we have the same [BAD WORD REMOVED] we have now...People seem to forget that Caldwell has said many times, the pics are for the future and don't expect greatness rightaway (paraphrasing)

People loved what Caldwell said and agreed with him for the most part and now they are complaining because we aren't great yet...Caldwell has a slow methodical plan and he has not waivered from it.
