This is like Deja Vu with the Gene Smith era
I and some of the fans were saying the plan is not working and it turns out we were totally right.
vs
The "smart guys" who were telling us to stick with the plan, it will work, etc etc
Here is the Fact. The plan is currently failing. A team expects some lumps and some losing during a rebuild but not to this extent. When the team is in the basement on almost every meaningful category there is a major problem. The plan has derailed somewhere along the way. The only thing we can hold onto is hope. To be continued

The plan hasn't derailed one bit.
Quote:Exactly. This notion that it's wrong because no team has done it this way is ridiculous. The Jaguars have said from the start with this regime that they were going to do things differently to make a small market team capable of competing with the big boys without having to over-extend themselves to do so. This is a NEW model they're creating, and one that a lot of small or mid-sized market teams are tracking very closely.
Just because they have an idea want to try something new does not make it the right move. This team has been down right pathetic in the majority of games since this new regime has taken over. At some points this have to equal wins or it's not real progress.

Really ms cleo? Tell us with your great enlightenment on how it's not derailed.
I don't think the plan was this team would get whooped on a regular basis for a season in a half. I don't think Khan expected to get spanked on his own field regularly.
The stink on the field has disgusted some of the most die hard fans.

It doesn't make it the wrong move either. It's a completely different approach, and they knew there would be growing pains as they went through this process.

They haven't deviated one bit from their plan. That's a pretty good indication that it hasn't derailed in their eyes. Keep flailing away if you feel the need to do so.
Shad will be extremely patient.

Since Bortles has played, we haven't exactly been spanked regularly. Been very competitive and really probably could just as easily be 2-1 with him starting. It's amazing what that decision has done for the team's level of play. We're no longer an incompetent squad of miscreant goons. We're a competitive NFL team, and that's at least entertaining to watch.

Yes, because the two sports are almost identical.

Just keep smoking that Teal Dust. It is too late now for them to do anything different until next season. At this point every good free agent has been signed. It's their bed and now they got to lie on it. I can see some major changes coming this offseason. I hope Khan is smarter than Weaver

Some folks won't see this even if it is kicking them in the forehead. The plan is progressing. It hasn't derailed. The team is steadily becoming exactly what people expected it to be this year. It's a team on the rise with an eye on 2015. The wins will come.

The last 2 teams we have played are basement dwellers. Lets reserve judgement until we play a solid team.

I didn't realize the only way to build a team was through free agency. Again, that's not their plan, but hey, it has worked out for other teams like Washington and Oakland, right?
The plan is not derailed. They will be more active in free agency next off season only because they have to spend to the cap. They'll identify talent to add to the roster and continue the process of building through the draft. That's their plan. Nothing has changed. Don't like it? Life's tough.

Right. Pittsburgh had the 4th rated offense in the league when they came to town. We held them under their season average for both total yards and scoring. Fixate on their record. Don't bother looking at facts.

Who said only free agency? Is it possible to both draft well and pay a couple of free agents when you have the best cap situation in the league? Blows the mind doesn't it?
As I said before a plan does not mean it will work. Results are going to be needed by this fanbase and hopefully khan before seasons end. It has been a disaster this year.

How many points did Pittsburgh and that offense score last week., huh heavy-T?

Completely irrelevant. Did they not come into the game here as a top 5 rated offense, cookie?

Pittsburgh as a team stinks currently and has some big injuries they are dealing with. They also just got spanked by the browns. That is garbage.

You're the one whining about free agency. The team has decided to blow the roster up and to fortify the foundation through the draft. Next year will be the first time you see them making legitimate moves in free agency that will truly benefit this team. Again, part of the plan.
Yeah, we get it. We also know that the plan may work, and if it does, it establishes a new model for teams to follow around the league. It's interesting how the fans struggle with this, but if you listen to those outside of the Jacksonville market discussing the direction this team is headed, and the method they've adopted in building this roster, nobody is as down on this franchise as the Jaguar fans.
