Another one using Matt Miller's board and Gurley slipped to the 2nd. Getting Cooper and Gurley would be a dream scenario and being able to do it without trading up is better yet.
I know I took another RB in the 5th with David Johnson but his value there was too good to pass up in comparison with the other talent that was still available.

From a value standpoint, that looks like a heck of a draft.
The way my mock draft is currently set up through the early 3rd Round, Derron Smith is the Jaguars 3rd Round pick. If he lasts to the 4th and the Jags get him then, even better news for the team and fan base. Yet, because so many teams need Safety help, I think there's going to be a run on Safeties well before the Jags 4th Round pick. What's left at that point, based on the Jags draft board, could turn out to be one of the key Jags draft questions if they don't draft a Safety in the top 3 rounds.
Doing a mock and having Gurley drafted in the 2nd is wishful thinking at this point.

Not just wishful thinking. Down right impossible.
If we are to believe what we are hearing, he could be gone in the top 10.

I'm not expecting him to be there but he was too good to pass up. It's a dream, basically.
Getting Williams, Jones, Agholor and Yeldon in rounds 1-4 would be amazing. Unfortunately, Agholor will go no later than early in the 2nd and Jones will probably go in the first. I'll gladly take Williams and Yeldon, Lockett in the 3rd and try to trade back in the 2nd and grab Randall/Rollins as our free safety and the best available linebacker with the extra 3rd round pick- Orchard or Perryman would be great value at that spot.
How about this then ? (Using the consolidated board)

Would of been a decent draft, wanted Fowler. Would of been a little different with Jones going in the first and Perryman going in the 2nd in the real draft.
I expect Jalen will be the pick at number 5 overall..
Tons of these drafts had Gurley going in the 4th. Crazy.
Quote:Tons of these drafts had Gurley going in the 4th. Crazy.
Couple factors. First, last year the devaluation of the RB narrative was probably at it's peak. I recall reading an article or blurb where someone suggested a RB would never be drafted in the first round ever again. That may have affected the grading across all the boards.
Second, this site seems to do a bad job of auto drafting outside the first round. I've seen the computer draft the same position three or four times in a row for computer drafted teams. It doesn't seem to do well negotiating best player, need, and value together and/or lowering need after positions are filled.
Every year mock drafts tend to have a RB going high but it really doesn't happen that often anymore.
Premium Positions (if they are round 1 quality skillset players);
In this order they are;
QB,
Ball Hawk DB(CB/FS),
Elite DL Pass Rusher,
Elite LT
(don't get me wrong if you have a dire need the order will change or depending on the GM even make a position not mentioned higher on the list - for a good GM that is usually when the team is close but just needs an elite ..... I still don't think that the Jaguars are that close to qualify).
I would think any players in the Top 5 would fall under the above rule, (unless of course you trade down in the draft).
That being said is Jalen Ramsey, CB/FS, Florida State an elite ball hawk DB? Of course the combine will enlighten us all on certain players, but at this point I have to think that he is the Jaguars #5 due to sole need alone.
I think we can all agree that QB isn't a need for the Jaguars. The argument is an elite pass rusher a big enough need to cancel out a ball hawk DB.
That is a hard debate, because many will simply point to Fowler Jr coming off a torn ACL as being that edge pass rusher that the team needs.
If the pass rusher isnt addressed in Free Agency, it maybe an indication that they are looking at Bose or something like that.
JungleCat? JungleCat is that you? It's been so long, I... I don't know how to feel now that you're back.

His jags board probably goes something like:
Rd1 - LT -Tunsil
Rd2 - DT - Johnson
Rd3 - QB - Hackenburg
Rd4 - DE -Tapper
