Quote:Is Yeldon really listed as a 4th rounder? I like your draft but I would like us to pick a FS in either the 2nd or 3rd round.
Agreed. I love the selection of Gregory and OLB's but were going to have to upgrade our FS position to help our secondary..
We need to find a way to address FS, RT, LB, DT/DE all in this offseason with starters..
Quote:Sign:
KJ Wright - OTTO
Tayshuan Gibson - FS
Jermaine Gresham - TE
Draft:
1 Randy Gregory - LEO
2 Cedric Ogbuehi - OT
3 Cody Prewitt - FS
4 Clive Walford - TE
5 Todd Gurley - RB/KR
6 Jalstin Fowler - FB/HB
7 Mike Orakpo - OTTO
Pray:
Blackmon comes back.
Would also like to see Coughlin brought back for some type of Front Office position.
This would literally be a dream. This is the exact plan we need to be competitive for next year and the following one. I'm hoping Gus and Dave think to themselves they're on a short leash and make splashes in free agency.
I wanted to see what might be possible if we took a different approach and tried to address some more of our offensive needs through the draft. (While still filling some holes in the defense).
This is what I came up with..
1/ Brandon Sherff OT
(Could play at guard and would improve our OL)
2/ Devin Funchess TE
(Seems to be best TE available)
3/ Kurtis Drummond S
(One area of defense which can't be overlooked)
4/ TJ Yeldon RB
(Contrast in running style to DRob)
5/ Bryce Petty QB
(Backup/competition for BB)
6/ AJ Johnson ILB
(Well, we might need one...)
7/ Jalston Fowler. FB
(Lots of other people seem to have spotted this great value seventh round pick)
IF we beat the Titans on Thursday we probably end up picking at five so I've had another look at this, to see what might be possible with some of the bigger names off the table. Here's what I came up with...
5: R1P5
OLB SHAQ THOMPSON
WASHINGTON
37: R2P5
ILB ERIC KENDRICKS
UCLA
69: R3P5
CB SENQUEZ GOLSON
OLE MISS
101: R4P5
RB DAVID COBB
MINNESOTA
133: R5P5
G JARVIS HARRISON
TEXAS A&M
165: R6P5
ILB MIKE HULL
PENN STATE
197: R7P5
FB JALSTON FOWLER
ALABAMA
There will be all sorts of variations on that, but shows that picking at five isn't the end of the world !
In this mock draft the Jags are selecting 3rd in each round.
Rd 1: Leonard Williams - DT - USC
Rd 2: La'el Collins - ORT - LSU
Rd 3: Cody Prewitt - FS - MIssissippi
Rd 4: Todd Gurley - RB - Georgia
Rd 5: Tyler Kroft - TE - Rutgers
Rd 6: Devonte Fields - DE - TCU
Rd 7: A.J. Johnson - ILB - Tennessee
Everyone who has us either taking a QB or WR early are completely out to lunch. Why even bother. We all know it's either a defensive stud or a RT. End of story.

Would love this draft. What's the deal with Fields? Is he coming out?

Looks like a great balance, if we finish third. Really don't think we will though.
And Fanspeak has Gurley falling to te fourth round, but do you really think he will ? (Even with his injury)

I like it. Apart from the wide receiver in the second round. Was that done with us drafting fifth.though ?
I love playing this game...
My latest mock draft selections are...
Rd 1 - Leonard Williams - DT - USC
Rd 2 - T.J. Clemmings - ORT - Pittsburgh
Rd 3 - Tevin Coleman - RB - Indiana
Rd 4 - Anthony Harris - FS - Virginia
Rd 5- Tyler Kroft - TE - Rutgers
Rd 6 - B.J. Finney - C - Kansas State
Rd 7 - A.J. Johnson - ILB - Tennessee
I had too much fun. I will wait until Tuesday afternoon to do another one. But I got it so no qb was selected until pick 32. That was very funny to watch.

I would love these first 3 picks, especially if the Jags get a quality free safety and tight end in free agency. Charles Clay and Rahim Moore would be my choices since I don't expect McCourty or Julius Thomas to be available. Clay and Moore would be expensive, but wouldn't break the bank and enable them to go after one more quality player they covet. Possibilities would be Cobb (to replace Shorts), Bulaga or another upgrade on the offensive line or one of the Seahawks (Maxwell or Malcolm Smith) who would like to be re-united with Bradley.

That site definitely gives a best case scenario

Does it still allow you to pick Gurley in round 4 ?
