CJ Johnson..intriguing pick. Excellent speed rush specialist. But he hasn't played linebacker in years.
I like the Duke Johnson pick. Good vision and awareness. His speed is crazy fast like watching on fast forward. Seems a high possibility considering he plays for Miami too.

Agreed. Could be a great value pick in the middle rounds.
I got bored and did another Fanspeak draft.
Round 1- Randy Gregory DE Nebraska
Round 2- La'el Collins OT/G LSU
Round 3- Eric Kendricks MLB UCLA
Round 4- Eric Rowe FS/CB Utah
Round 5- Josh Shaw CB/FS USC
Round 6- Todd Gurley RB Georgia
Round 7- Devin Smith WR Ohio State
I know free safety is a high priority in our eyes, and I feel Shaw would actually do very nicely in that role still. Rowe has great size, and I would have them compete for FS with the other at CB. I doubt Hurley would last past the 5th round even with his injury, but he was there. Devin Smith is a speed receiver and might be used for returns. Especially when we cut Sanders. There are probably other options for a return man, but I haven't paid much attention.
McKinney and Thompson in the 2nd and 3rd round? Keep dreaming.
FanSpeak needs some help tweaking their rankings
Decided to try it - fanspeak's rankings are WAY off. Here's what I was able to draft:
1: R1P1

33: R2P1
OLB Shaq Thompson

I wanted a FS in round 3, but there was a run after my pick in round 2. I think the best FS in this draft are merely adequate in the NFL anyway. Really hoping we get that hole plugged in free agency.
I would be doing backflips for this draft

Hoping we take care of our FS need is FA in Devin McCourty, Tashaun Gipson, or Louis Delmas
so we should just draft from the SEC west.?

Free Agency and the draft must compliment each other so I will post my Free Agent selections
1. Bryan Bulaga - ORT - Green Bay - 6'5" 314 - 26 Yrs old
Jags must improve their Oline and they need an ORT that can man the OLT position in case of injury
Bulaga will cost in the 6 to 7 Million a year range but will solidify the right side of the line
2. James Carpenter - OLG - Seattle - 6'5" 321 - 26 Yrs old
Need an upgrade at OLG because Beadles is not cutting it.
3. Tashaun Gipson - FS - Cleveland - 5'11" 205" 25 Yrs Old
Ballhawk who is not afraid to tackle
4. Charles Clay - TE - Miami - 6'3" 255 - 26 Yrs Old
Jags need a pass catching TE
Draft:
Rd 1: Randy Gregory - DE - Nebraska - 6'6" 245 Lbs - being compared to Aldon Smith of the 49ers
Rd 2: Denzel Perryman - ILB - Miami - 5'11" 242 Lbs
Rd 3: T.J. Yeldon - RB - Alabama - 6'2" 221 Lbs
Rd 4: Kurtis Drummond - FS - Michigan State - 6'1" 200 Lbs

Not very realistic that these players would be there rounds 2-4. They'll probably update the rankings sometime early next year I would think.
Supposedly they update the rankings and draft position every Tuesday, but they still have the Jags with the top pick as of about an hour ago.

Zane Beadles is a better player than James Carpenter; I do like this FA class and the draft however. I like Denzel Perryman, but would really like Tevin Coleman (Indiana RB) in the 2nd round, that guy has insane long speed; we'd have an explosive RB tandem in Shoelace and Tevin Coleman.

I would be very happy with this combination of free agents and draft picks. Gregory could be a huge difference-maker on defense. Perryman would add speed to the linebacking corps, although I'd hate to lose Poz.. Stigma, how much more would Devin McCourty cost than Gipson and how much difference is there in their skill sets.
There is a lot to like about both Devin McCourty of the Patriots and Tashaun Gipson of the Browns.
Here are their respective carreer stats
Devin McCourty - 5'10" 195 Lbs - 28 Yrs old in 2015
2010 - 82 T and 7 Int
2011 - 87 T and 2 Int
2012 - 82 T and 5 Int
2013 - 69 T and 1 Int
2014 - 47 T and 2 Int
Tashaun Gipson - 5'11" 205 Lbs - 26 Yrs old in 2015
2102 - 33 T - 1 Int
2013 - 95 T - 5 Int
2014 - 52 T - 6 Int
As can be seen Gipson is bigger and younger and may just beginning to reach his potential. Of course the Browns have one true shut down CB which can make a FS job that much easier.
