If this is Pierce' first incident, which it sounds like, it only enters him into the program. He'd have to do something else to get the four game suspension. We often hear about a player being suspended as soon as we hear something, but that's just because we rarely hear about the incident that initially sent them into the program. I'm guessing there will be no suspension unless you specifically read something about there being one.


 

As for Gerhart, he's on the team because they feel they can rely on him to get a couple yards when they really need it. Against the Bills, giving it to him four times should have worked. Now that we know it didn't, we may want to re-evaluate if he should even be on the roster.

He's on the team to distract us fans. Its a magic trick. Everyone complain about slowby in my right hand, look away from my left hand (gus).

They aren't all homeruns, and when he was signed many thought they got him cheap & had hoped he could be a solid working back... sadly it didnt work out.

I wonder what goes through a grown person's head when they call a player something like "Slowby" or freaking "Gerfart". Like... do you think you're being clever? Do you do a little fistpump and think to yourself "YEAH I GOT 'IM". Really. 

And when Dave gets a 6th round draft pick for him... who am i kidding?

It seems as if you have possibly  mistaken the op to be an adult.. We will excuse it this time but you need to be more mindful in the future.

He's on the team because he's a future hall of fame back, he was only terrible last year because he was injured.

Wow. I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the 'nastiness' of some the comments directed a Gerhart, but man... some of ya'll sound downright hostile! Okay; so Gerhart hasn't proven to be the three down back workhorse that he was originally brought here to be. Okay; so Gerhart hasn't proven to be the reliable short yardage back he was hoped to be. Okay; so he doesn't have very good 'field vision' (aka-he keeps his head down too much and doesn't see holes in the line). Okay; he's too slow for 'outside' running plays. Okay; sometimes he's guilty of completely 'whiffing' on blocks which lead to Bortles getting sacked.

 

Wow... after going back and reading my own list of 'okays', Gerhart really does appear to suck! No wonder many of the viking's fans weren't sad to see him go. I understand Dave getting him though; we needed someone 'right now' to replace Mojo. The theory was sound, I guess; Gerhart didn't see much playing time in Minnesota (ostensibly, due to Adrian Peterson). Therefore, even though older, his legs should still be 'fresh'. Now we realize that perhaps his not seeing much playing time in Minnesota had less to do with Adrian Peterson than we thought. 

 

At least we didn't pay top dollar for him, which at this point, seems like about the only virtue he has here. I wish I could say more positive things about Gerhart, but he just plain hasn't done much to help his case here. The only time he hasn't looked, at best, 'pedestrian' was when he wasn't on the field at all due to injuries.
