Remember the "He has low mileage" argument was made by fans to justify this terrible signing.
Man, people will stop at nothing to defend the Jags every move.

Don't worry, he won't be on the team next season. He will be back in MN.

ill be honest though, i really thought he would make a good part of a 1, 2 punch. not so much.

I'm definitely thinking the Vikes are going to come crawling back to get him when they realize the wear and tear on Adrian Peterson's body.
I know AP has 530 yards this season but their GM doesn't have long term vision.

People want to think optimistically. Nothing wrong with that.
There's not exactly much of a "Toby Gerhart Defense Camp" going on right now, is there? Everyone agrees in hindsight that he's terrible, but you can't blame them for trying to find reasons to be optimistic... it's kind of all we've had for the last few years... Hope.... HOPE that the signing works out. HOPE that things improve.. when they don't... well... we HOPE the next GM, Coach, Player, Move.. whatever, works out.

I think paying a RB in free agency is a bad idea no matter how good the RB is. To pay a guy who is a backup is even worse.

It's not like they are paying him lesean McCoy money. They are giving him like 3 million a year which is low and his contract is set to be able to drop him after the year and have little to no cap hit. I don't understand why people are so against the pickup like it was some massive failure by Caldwell. He was simply a fill in piece until we drafted a running back. He shouldn't really be seeing the field the way he is playing but that's not caldwells fault the coaching keep running him out there.

Slowby Gertrash is.....trash.

Here is Slowby's highlight reel from his time as a Jaguar:
Oh, my, I must have misplaced it. There have been highlights for Slowby in Jacksonville, right? What about that time he picked up four yards?

Before I clicked on the link, I was like, there better be like no video or something.
And you, my man, came through like gang-busters.
Well done!

I bursted out laughing. Caldwell certainly struck out on this one.

I agree, it's almost as if this coaching staff (particularly the incompetent Gus Bradley) wants to make everyone "feel good", there was no reason to run Toby 4 consecutive times on the goal-line just like there was no reason to bench Davon House for an ineffective Dwayne Gratz.

And now the latest defense is "it's not like they paid him McCoy money" lol.
Give me a million and I will run into the backside of linemen all day and fall down. Caldwell can spend the 2M elsewhere.

His play adversely impacts our team. Have you seen his missed blocking assignments ? That, coupled with his 2.2 ypc stat negatively impacts our team when he's on the field. I wouldn't complain if we just paid him and he sat on the sidelines.

Exactly, who wants to pay McCoy $9 million per year when you can get Toby for $3 million. :woot:
Most people are failing to recognize that Toby is on track to have 100.5714 rushing yards this season. Just not certain he can keep up this pace for another 9 games.
