Quote:So when do we hear anything about him?  It is kind of weird to me we never really heard anything from the jags or the league after his last mess up.  Yea I will probably get blasted for posting this, but this whole situation has been kind of strange to me.

Is he still able to ask for reinstatement after the 8th game or not?  With all these wr not able to stay on the field sure would be nice to have the thought of him back at some point.  Bortles and Justin would be awesome on the field together.

Blackmon missed the final eight games of 2013 serving his indefinite suspension. He can apply for reinstatement one year from that date, but the Jaguars "aren't counting on him" this season. Still, it's surprising more hasn't been made of Blackmon's situation. Though not unprecedented, suspending Blackmon 24 games would be a strong message from the NFL. Odell Thurman and Tanard Jackson were denied reinstatement under Roger Goodell and received two-year bans. (Thurman had multiple off-field arrests and Jackson was rumored to have violated the terms of his Treatment Plan). It's not clear if Blackmon is currently in good standing with the league. Similar to Josh Gordon's DUI, Blackmon's July marijuana arrest complicates matters and will subject him to the NFL's personal conduct policy when he's eligible to return

If he comes back I will welcome him back with open arms, if he never comes back I will chalk it to the what if category and move on.

We're beating a dead horse here

Stop bringing this up.  Blackmon's gone.  More than likely will never be in a Jags uniform ever again.  Move on.
According to Mark Long just now on Dempsey's show, the buzz inside the stadium right now is that Blackmon has finally started to work on getting the right kind of help to get him back on the field.  He didn't indicate when Blackmon would be applying for reinstatement, but it sounds like he will when he's allowed to do so.

Those who keep saying people should stop bringing it up because he's as good as gone aren't listening to what the team is saying.  When he's available, they fully intend to give him another shot.

This is excellent news!

Hopefully another opportunity...he's had far too many "shots", if you know what I mean.

Even though the odds are astronomical I still purchase a lottery ticket here and there. I will hold out the same hope with JB. Odds are about the same IMO.

Yes I heard it too.  Hmm, idk we'll see.

He's the most talented Jaguar

This just made my day, I honestly could care less if the team goes winless this year, if we compete on a weekly basis, see growth from our offense, and get JB14 back, it will all be worth it.

I still remember in that preseason game vs the jets him making cromartie look like a 4th stringer, man we need this guy.
"Bortles to Blackmon" we don't have a speedster on the team, but there's a lot of talent in this team.
The dude must have 9 lives..

Hahaha nice.
He's living the consequences of his choices. He's thrown away millions so he could remain 'chemically altered'. Forget him, move on....

Just stop with this nonsense, the fans will move on when the Jaguars decide to move on, they haven't yet.
If I was going to play with henne, I'd go smoke some too.

Seeing what Bortles brings, I bet Blackmon has already contacted his agent.  Smile

...one can dream.

Great news.
