The thing is if Blackmon was tearing up the league our running game would have benefitted. Our pass protection would have benefitted. Gabbert might have been salvageable. He's one of those guys who will get the ball when its man coverage or even doubled. That leaves so many other options open.

Excellent news!

He must be runnin out of money for booze.

It's good to hear that things are finally starting to move forward with his recovery.  Hopefully he takes it seriously and can get his life back on track.

That is a good group without Blackmon.


With Blackmon, and without Shorts, we would potentially have four starting caliber WRs. The matchup advantages would be numerous.


Assuming this year's rookies develop, no secondary could consistently cover all of these guys if Blackmon plays as he is capable.

 

We'd have at least two big, physical chain movers in Blackmon and Robinson.

 

We'd have at least four guys who have proven able to get deep.

 

We'd have at least one, maybe two red zone threats in Blackmon and Robinson.

 

At least one guy to stretch the field-Lee, and at least three with proven ability for YAC (haven't seen it in Lee yet but I have little doubt he can get us YAC too).

 

If secondaries rolled coverage to Blackmon, they would do so at their own peril.

 

Either way, eventually they'd have an inferior DB (either a 4th CB or a S-if not a backer) trying to cover one of these guys.

 

If this offense ever gets a cohesive OL and a running game going with those receivers, this offense will win in spectacular fashion.

A healthy,focused and "clean" Blackmon with Blake at QB is easily a top 10 WR in the league

Blackmon has obviously been watching Bortles play. The inspiration he needed. Damn, Blake does make the people around him better!

Remember when Cecil Shorts was saying he was doing very well and people were saying he was be fed those lines. Retrospective.

I drool at thinking what Bortles could do with what Blackmon was a year ago. If he's still in that form, could be real good.

So he has completed less than half of the 90 days. So no way he is back until after the bye week.


I hope he really is doing it fix his issues and not just because his 1 year is almost up or he is out of money.

He's not coming back this season, so no one should be holding out hope for that. The best case scenario would be him getting himself healthy and reinstated sometime over the next league year.

Doing 90 days does not mean he cannot work at his job during his rehab.
