Quote:I love how you bring up nonsense that doesn't matter.

The only things that matter in this discussion is that they in fact were up 17-0 today and blew it. They blew it because they lost their killer instinct while hitting 17-0 lead. They stopped doing the things on offense that got them there.

When you start playing "not to lose" you often wind up losing.
What matters to you? Building a team? Making progress? Improving? Drafting a franchise QB who's going to lead this team to the playoffs for years to come? Obviously not.

The only thing that matters to you is today. Again, way to see the big picture. This team has undergone a complete overhaul and is building for long-term success. They have a great owner, GM, coach and QB in place. The only person who doesn't see that and isn't excited for the future is you.

Sorry "your team" lost and you had to cry in your beer while your Philly buddies laughed at you and made you pick up the tab.

I don't want to hear long term crap when you're up 17-0 by the beginning of the 2nd Q, as well as still holding the 17-0 lead at the half.

To give up 34 straight points to lose the game from that point forward is inexcusable.
What did you think the score would be at halftime? Did you expect the Jags to even be competitive in this game? Be honest.

No...but they had a great lead and called plays aggressively early.  About 5-10 minutes before the half Fisch went back to calling ultra conservative plays.  That's the gripe!  The Jags handed the game away today.  Sooo many questions, why run to the right consistently? especially on 2nd and short and not take shots downfield?  Where did D Rob go after the 2nd quarter?  Why wasnt Lewis in the mix more?  Why not throw to Hurns more until the game was out of hand?  Why keep handing off to Gerhart for a <2 yard average?  Today was no better than your average JDR try and sit on a small lead game.  This was not the caliber of coaching you'd expect out of a championship team.  We had out foot on their throats and totally took it off and helped them off the ground so they could win the game.  Unacceptable!

To be honest, it went the way I thought it would but with more points.

I predicted our defense would be stout and we would have a few stalled drives that resulted in field goals, but still be in a tight one at halftime.

I predicted after all of Hamneck's three and outs, the defense would get gassed in the 2nd and start getting gashed.

Didnt go how i expected but i pretty much guessed the score right. Henne going 3 and out all the time puts our defense on the field too much in the 2nd half. Then backups and young players missed assignments for the big plays. Should of scored more in the first half.

It's outrageous and unacceptable! We demand FULL CONSISTENCY! This team has obviously been built to make a run at the SB this year and anything else is completely unacceptable. After this year, if they don't make it, they'll have to blow it up and rebuild once again. It's now or never people.

So, there is nothing they can do that is wrong during a rebuild?
Need to shop for a new OC.

Your sarcasm makes the poor decisions and play today OK. :-)

I'm not sure I'd go that far yet...I mean that same OC got us the lead.

What needs to happen is Fisch has got to stay aggressive. 17-0 lead against NFL teams is not unsurmountable. Fisch's playcalling from that point forward became "not to lose" and well, they lost.

Maybe Chad's arm got worn down.

Agreed...

Agreed, that's on the OC as far as I'm concerned.  He better figure it out fast.  You can't go into a prevent offense with only a 17 point lead against a quick strike team like the iggles.

Of course not. They're in Year Two of a rebuild. Do you watch the NFL? I've been watching for 35 years. Have a little patience. If you don't see progress by Year Three, you've got a problem. I'm already seeing progress this year. Remember that home opener against KC last year? Holy smokes. We're leaps and bounds ahead of schedule compared to that team last year. Add to that a franchise QB who we won't play for whatever reason and I think the rebuild is well under way. Come on man.

If they finish 4-12 again this year and they get blown out weekly, there will be concerns. Until then, I'm very optimistic about this team's future and I'm a generally pessimistic person.

A 17-0 lead in todays NFL is by no means insurmountable.

This ain't the 1970's anymore.

When the Eagles made adjustments.  Fisch couldn't answer those adjusments.  He lacks NFL OC  intelligence.  He belongs in division 2 college.
To top it off, I honestly think Fisch's prevent offense had an effect on Henne.  I'm telling you, you could see a clear difference in how Henne was throwing the ball in the 2nd half.  He choked, but I think the coaching staff told him he needs to be extra carefull and not make any turnovers.

Henne seriously looked like he was trying to squeeze the air out of the football when he was throwing it in the 2nd half.  Whereas in the first half, he looked loose and just playing the game.

Fisch really needs to make sure he keeps the same game plan instead of getting scared once we have the lead.

This could be on Gus.

Gus could have given Fisch the order to get more conservative once up 17-0.

Gus is essentially the boss.
