Quote:One of the most overrated QB ever.
Famous for one game/ guarantee. (oh, and for being a drunken fool) Otherwise a so-so career.
You're either kidding or you just don't understand the history of the game.

Outside of the guarantee game/ season. What was so great about his play during the rest of his career?
I think he was a tad overrated

You needed to ask? He was dead serious.

Stop McCoy
Stop McCoy
Stop McCoy
Contain Celeck and Ertz
Stop McCoy
Score TDs instead of FGs when in the red zone
This is basically it.

Quote:I know you have this fantasy that people are stalking you, but unfortunately, that's just you once again giving more value to something than actually exists. When you say something stupid, you're going to have people call you out. It's not stalking. It's simply little tolerance for idiotic commentary.Oh shut up with the "it ain't me" line. I'm not a fan of the dog but you and a few others are on his jock like crabs whenever he says anything.
His sig bet would still be valid using your scenario. For whatever reason, you're still confused. Does someone need to stomp their feet 3 times so you'll get it?

Quote:-Control Time Of Possession: The Eagles have one of the best offenses in the league. They play fast and tire out the opposing teams defense. This team needs to control the ball and keep the defense fresh
-3rd down Efficiency: Like most games this game will decided on 3rd down. This relates to T.O.P. We have to keep drives going
-Score Often: This game could become a shootout. If we see Bryan Anger too much it's a loss plain and simple.
-Stop the Run: We need to put Phili in third and long situations. Hope the pass rush is improved and gets to the QB
-Pass Rush: This team cannot keep giving opposing QB's an eternity in the Pocket. Hit Foles often and don't let him get comfortable.
Unfortunately we can't do most of these things.

His Super Bowl win was very important to the development of the league as we know it, and he managed five Pro Bowls. Despite that, he only QBed THREE (3) playoff games his whole career and posted a winning record only five times his entire career. One of those times was a 2-1 record.

So? A very common mistake today is to rate a QB by the teams he played on. People forget he played in an era where the pass was, if not an afterthought, at least not as emphasized as it is today. He's in the HOF for a reason.

Quote:Didn't say he wouldn't be starting next year. I just think they could wait until year 3 to install Bortles as a captain. If your starting quarterback isn't worthy of the C, you need to find a new starting quarterback.

2. I didn't emphasize his passing stats because prior to the 1978 rules changes, it was difficult to pass the ball. Football was clearly a running game then.
Ultimately, QBs are judged by wins, losses, and championships.
Compared to Len Dawson, who played during the same era, Namath IS overrated.

Was Gabbert a captain by 2012? He was a full time starter going into that season.

Yep, QBs are judged by wins, losses, and championships by casual fans but it's the wrong way to judge them and I like to think that most people know better. Marino may have been one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game but he didn't win a championship. There are other guys are on that list like Warren Moon, Dan Fouts, and Fran Tarkenton and they're cases in point.

Question: Would you put Archie Manning in the Hall of Fame?
Why or why not?

Maybe his loins should go in.
But I agree with everyone who said the run game and keeping the Eagles offensive off the field
