My Question is Stephen Hill better than Mike Brown?? 

 

In my opinion Hill is not only better and does have a place on the Jags , but has a much higher ceiling

Adam Caplan mentioned with the new rules, Hill still has PS eligibility left.

Brown has comparable stats in one less year, and already knows Fish's system.

On Hill, I tend to think a player with his talent, released from a WR-needy team and unclaimed off of waivers makes me think there might be something upstairs worth avoiding

its the Jets. Notice how Mark Sanchez is now playing very well now that he's outta that offensive hell hole?

 

Regarding the offensive side of the ball Ryan is more clueless than even Del Rio.

You can't be on an active roster for more than 8 games in any 1 season and qualify for the practice squad. Hill was active for 11 games his rookie year and 12 games last year. He doesn't qualify.

 

 Either Caplan has his numbers confused or you misunderstood him.

The NFL clearly does not think highly of Hill, who is still only 23 years old and blessed with sub-4.4 speed at 6-foot-4, 215. It's worth noting Hill has practice squad eligibility per new NFL rules. Hill is still a hold in Dynasty leagues. You certainly won't find more upside on a Dynasty waiver wire.

Agreed on those points, however Sanchez was a fairly desired free agent and still signed a modest contract with Philly with the notion he may still have upside. Stephen Hill wound up in the doghouse in the organization, and despite his upside didn't even get a lick of interest even though he was on the trading block, he passed through waivers unclaimed, and still hasn't been offered a contract.

I'd imagine he's probably mulling over several offers at this point. 

 

The teams didn't want to claim him I guess because it would commit more money to him that way. This way its less of an investment. 

My bad for looking at SBnation and it's multiple affiliates for a practice squad rules update. Apparently when one gets it wrong they all get it wrong.

 

After scrolling through a whole google page and a half of them repeating their mistakes regarding practice squad eligibility, I found an actual legit news source that explained it differently. http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/2014/0...sons.html/

 

Each team may select two players that have two accrued seasons for the practice squad. He would make a fraction of the vet minimum salary for a 3rd year player, so I imagine he will hold off to the last second before accepting any practice squad offers.

He's probably working with ESPN to figure out when they'll be able to air Stephen Hill: The Decision.

Like rocdee mentioned,   Marcel Jensen does go through the waiver process.

 

It's a calculated risk on the part of Dave Caldwell and co.  in putting Jensen on waivers.   My take is the Jaguars organization views Jensen along the lines of how Bullseye views him.   In essence,  someone they would like to keep but he's someone they can live with losing if another team claims him.

If that's true then I think that's a great idea. Not sure hill will be cool with being on a practice squad but.... That's between him and the team.
