Quote:I'll repeat what I said before.
Pocket passer: Teddy
Dual threat: Johnny
It's clear I was wrong about Johnny. Gus wanted a dualthreat and after watching the most prolific pocket passer in NFL history get spanked in the Super Bowl, it was an easy decision for Caldwell. Speaking of dual threat, have we called any option plays? I remember Gabbert and Henne had a few last season despite their lack of wheels. Blake has showcased more clutch moments than Teddy too
despite popular opinion....Teddy is not a statue in the pocket.
Just keep letting him learn from Henne.. The more he learns the more better he'll become..

Let him learn more sounds better than learn more from Henne
Quote:Be very careful with preseason assessments. Gabbert looked great in preseason games.
I don't remember him looking great. At times a spark that looked like it might start a fire, but not great.

The only thing he learned from Henne is where the bathroom is. Everything he needs to learn he's learning from the coaches.

Exactly. There were some teases that made you think he was starting to get the hang of things then suddenly, he was right back to square one.
<p style="margin-left:40px;">Faster than anticipated by whom..... the remaining Gabbert faithful???

He didn't look good. This was discussed last week. He had one or two moments in games where he looked decent. Like against New Orleans in 2012. But the next week he was brutally awful against Baltimore. Last year he had one good drive against the Jets and got hurt. His rookie year, he was bad.

What the hell is he going to learn from Henne?

Batted balls? I really hope not though.
I love how because Henne is an average QB that Bortles can't learn from him. Jim Harbaugh wasnt the greatest QB and yet he seems pretty good at passing along some knowledge to QBs

I have a hard time seeing Harbaugh the player as a great mentor for a young QB. The guy is a first class jerk.

While there are things he can learn from Henne, I feel there are a lot of things we would hope he doesn't learn from Henne at the same time.

Harbaugh was a better QB than he was ever credited for. The colts barely lost in the AFC championship with him at QB.

Harbaugh went to the pro bowl, was the AFL player of the year, led his team to the AFC championship game, and is in the colts ring of honor. It wasn't for very long, but he learned how to play at a high level.

Should be AFC player of the year...not AFL.

Him and Marshall Faulk were awesome in madden

Right on.

Two things:
1. Henne isn't average. He's below average.
2. Coaches are coaches because they know how to coach. The majority of NFL players don't become coaches afterwards because they don't know how to coach. Coaching and playing are two very different things.

right? I like how there is this notion that you can't learn from a veteran QB. You can learn a lot of anything from a vet QB from plays, game situations, game prep, etc tons of things. Alot of the great players say they learned from some of the players that were considered average or below average.
