I see Achilles is still sticking to his "HURNS IS TERRIBLE" fallacy. Ignorance doesn't budge.

Cecil is lucky Gene Smith was employed here or he wouldn't even be in the NFL.

Quote:I saw the drops thing, but it didn't seem like it was that bad, just being a little nit picky.  But you're right it was an extremely deep draft for WRs.  Like one of the most deep ones I can remember.
Nit Picky????  Catching the football is the most important thing a receiver does.

I think you misunderstand what I'm saying.  I'm not saying drops are unimportant, I'm saying that in the case of Hurns that he isn't bad at catching the ball.
Quote:Not very good overall. He is average in just about all areas and had a little hype by being a player from the U. Maybe two or three years ago it would be different but I don't see him making the 53.

Shorts was going to be drafted anyway.

Just not THAT high.
Quote:In what fairy tale world do you live in that you see the above coming true? He absolutely will get big money his next deal.

Let me ask you then - what do you envision Shorts getting for his next deal?

Depends almost entirely on this year. If he plays every game and catches 90 passes for 1300 yards, how much do you think he'll sign for? If he misses 8 games and is iffy in a couple others, the injury-prone label will be cemented and he'll get a little more than the minimum.

If its the second, we won't re-sign him anyway. If its the first, he's getting more than Eric Decker got.

He was projected as 3rd-5th round pick..

The info I had said he was expected to be 5th round or later.

What info?
Quote:What info?

....The tax records for PetSmart.....

(What the hell were we just talking about?...)

The projected draft rounds for the players from that draft.

That info.

I think, he was asking for your source.

I don't have the link available at this point. It was one of those sites that give the projections.

The past couple years I have been using Scott Wrights draft countdown. But this was before then.

Draft Countdown had him at 144 which would put him in the 5th round range

The Philly one up there had a 5th round ranking (just like I said), another one was an insider which was useless since I don't have it (couldn't read article), and the one that actually said "3rd round grade" was Todd McShay, who is notoriously the worst of all the talking heads draft analysts.

It probably was Draft Countdown for my info. I didn't think I was using that site at that point, but I guess I was. They said 5th round also.

I edited the post you replied to because Wright himself picked up Shorts in the 4th round and at the very bottom of the rankings there is a disclaimer from draft countdown that says:

"<i>Does Not Necessarily Indicate Where I Thought Players Would Actually Be Selected" </i>

144 sounds like 5th round to me....

....maybe there was a lot of supplimental choices that year.

144/32 = 4.5, so middle of the fifth round.
