Quote:I think their builds are similar. The other thing is that neither is particularly physically dominant, size strength or speed wise, but have just enough of all three and a knack for getting open.
It suggests that Hurns is probably a very good route runner.
Quote:What makes Hurons so good? Is it now his route running after a couple of months with Sullivan?
Sullvan has now done magic with a lot of WR here. Again, this is why I have very little fear about losing any of these guys. We simply develop someone else with this dude.

I think you are way underestimating what Shorts will get in this new CBA era.
Hell, that big white Eagles receiver (I forget his name) that only had one half of a good year got more coin than that.....
5 years - 22 mil - 10 mil guaranteed
That's not really "more coin" than what was suggested. It falls squarely in the same range
5 receiver max: Shorts, Sanders, Lee, Robinson, Hurns
Hurns has earned it

I agree, I think it has a bit to do with good instincts and an understanding of the offense and how it attacks secondaries as well.

Hahahahaha more egg on the face.

No, the Cooper contract is more. Its in the same range yes, but Coops was more.
And, typical you - you ignore the fact that Cooper got that deal producing a much smaller sample size of good play than Shorts has.
So, genius.....wouldn't you think that extrapolates to a bigger contract for Shorts??
You come off so smug and you're just a joke.

We'll see man. Instead of me telling you what's going to happen in the future, I offer my opinion and go with a wait and see approach. None of us here can predict the future. None of us even work for the NFL. So instead of being smug like you and calling people idiots for disagreeing with me or proclaiming how I was right about something that has yet to even materialize, I'll wait for it to actually happen and then we can start seeing who was right.

It's
not more. It would have to be 25mil+ to be more than what flgatorsandjags and myself suggested.
Math.
Try it.
I'm not extrapolating anything.
I don't think the Jags will offer Shorts more than 4.5mil per year with 6-7 mil guaranteed. 4 year deal. That's my opinion on the matter. Extrapolate all you want. I don't care.

Riley Cooper DID get 25 MIL....

but thats right you and Achilles can keep acting smug and be wrong.
You're both WAY underestimating what Shorts next deal will be, IMO, as well.....
Hurns has played great. If he can carry this into the regular season, hurns is out #1

bleacher report LOL
Quote:2/27/2014: Signed a five-year, $22.5 million contract. The deal contains $10 million guaranteed, including a $4 million signing bonus. Another $2.5 million is available through incentives based on receiving yards and touchdowns. 2014: $1 million, 2015: $4 million, 2016: $4.5 million, 2017: Under Contract, 2018: Voidable Year, 2019: Free Agent
This is from rotoworld. ^^ You are including performance incentives that are not guaranteed.

He's certainly earned the right to start.

Riley Cooper signed a 5 year / $22.50 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including a $4,000,000 signing bonus, $8,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $4,500,000.
Slightly over 5 mil a year and only 8 million is guaranteed. Very reasonable contract. Also the eagles were in a bad situation without much bargaining room. Cooper at the time was their number 1 and at worse the number 2 for this season.
If the rookies pan out, Cecil will have less room to make higher demands from the jaguars.
Still can't believe he was passed over 7 times by 32 teams.
Quote:Still can't believe he was passed over 7 times by 32 teams.
I would be happy with him if he was our 2nd round pick
He plays like sober Blackmon.
Quote:Still can't believe he was passed over 7 times by 32 teams.
We kinda lucked out with this draft being so deep at WR.....thats what allowed this to happen.
Hurns looks like our version of Dez Bryant. The fact he was a really late pick makes us look genius. Cecil is going to have to earn his contract.
