On top of that, rookie receivers are notoriously inconsistent. Inconsistency in the passing game means fewer first downs. Fewer first downs equals lack of reps for everybody.
If your concern was truly developing young players you would want them to be in as functioning of an offense as possible.
It seems when you throw it his way he finds a way to make the catch. It is so refreshing after years of WR's with "good size" or "good speed" who often didn't make the play.
So refreshing. Catch and move the chains
Cecil is our one proven guy. And can get into a funk where he drops the ball constantly. I don't see a scenario why we would want to trade him for what would be offered.

Hurns is the only one besides Shorts who has shown any significance and that's only been in a few preseason games. Shorts is not getting traded or cut.
TMD just wants him gone to validate the force feeding of his ignorant opinion of Cecil on the board.
He can't state an opinion and let it go. He has to trump it up and then cry about it when people call him out for his personal vendetta being wrong.
TMD is mentally a child. There is no backbone just a lot of whining and crying.
Man, Predator, would you actually speak like that to another human being? Jeez man.
See all you guys who hate on another poster for his purported trolling or flaming or whatever actually do the same thing when you automatically discount their opinion because of their screen name. Predator I'm not saying this against you specifically (I actually think you're a great contributor here), just making a point.
I'm not like on a high horse or anything (in fact mine is rather more like a mule), I'm just saying that stomping other people doesn't help the conversation.
I'm really excited to see what he can do in the regular season. So far, I haven't seen any issues with his hands and he's been our healthiest WR (the two things that may have lowered his stock). He's played bigger than his size and gotten separation, which is really the hard thing to do at the next level.

Hurns is behind Brown, but I wonder how quickly that might change by week 1?
It definitely will, especially since we aren't keeping all of those guys.
It'll be interesting to see how he carries this over to the regular season. The guy has shown extremely well in the preseason. Hopefully he'll continue to show up well when the intensity level ratchets up.

That's a legitimate concern with the rookies. Historically, they usually hit a wall at some point. Expecting all of them to step in and play like seasoned veterans for an entire season is a little naive.

We've seen this story before, however, he just really looks the part, so smooth and natural. I'm hoping we struck gold this time.

We have seen quite a few guys who have flashed in the preseason only to disappear when the games count. I'm hopeful that's not going to be the case here, but only time will tell for sure.

Doesn't this guy just seem different than those though? Not sure why but it seems as if the Hughes'/Sharons/Hanktons of the past just kinda felt like they knew they were cinderella and playing over their heads.
Hurns doesn't give me that vibe. That's nothing more than a gut feeling, but it's a pretty strong one.

Hughes/Sharon/Hankton flashed. He's been far more consistent in making plays. He looks like a veteran out there right now, but we'll see if that continues with the regular season. I suspect he'll have some setbacks, but that in the end, he'll continue to be the most consistent rookie we've seen here in a long while.
