Quote:Nah.  You wanted him in the 2nd...he just fell and now you're claiming you wanted him "round 4".  LOL at implying Barkley has shown the the same promise has Gratz, Barkley has been trash every second he's been on the field, he won't last 3 years...Gratz played better than Revis as said earlier in the thread as a rookie.  And Arthur Brown is another...didn't feel the need to continue after Barkley tbh.  Go away.

Nope.

I wanted CB Jonathan Banks with the 2nd.

So, nice to see you just throw crap against the wall and hope some sticks.

Nice guess though with Barkley as one of the 2 players, tho.
Quote:Oh good you still use interceptions as a measuring stick for corners. Revis says what up.

lol, oh, so now Gratz is comparable to Revis'.... 'k.

INT's aren't THE measuring stick as in singular, but you do want CB that have good ball hawking skills, too. Gratz doesn't have that. Revis had decent ball hawk skills pre injury....he just didn't get many opportunities for INT once his reputation grew.

So you liked Banks so much that you don't know what his first name is. Interesting.

And he had one whole interception more than Gratz despite playing six more games. So he obviously doesn't 'intercept a lot of passes'.

That would have been nice. Banks ranked 100 while Gratz is 42. Banks allowing a 97 passer rating while Gratz allowing a 75.

I don't think we had much of a chance to see Gratz ball hawking skills due to injury but he did make plays. He produced and did fairly well considering he had no pass rush to back him up and played with several others rookies. Gets give him another year before we write him off as just average.

Where did I say that? Revis just proves stats aren't the end all be all with corner.

He was also way worse but TMD wouldn't know that since he bases all of his opinions on what their name is.

We'll see.
Quote:So can you give us your detailed report of how Gratz has looked in camp so far. I'd be very interested to hear your take of everything you've seen so far.

So don't use stats to make your point? Better to use the "eye test".
Quote:Not true, and nice grammar there, genius. Laughing

You make me dumber.

TBH, Banks has been horibad since entering the league.

Just curious where those "ratings" were coming from. You cited nothing.

Um, no one is stifling any...

No one has added any since the initial few.

Must not be anything noteworthy coming from practice ATM...

Quote:lol....and isn't very good and rarely records interceptions. The above description is putting lipstick on a pig. Its still a pig, and Gratz in the end still produces average at best. We added Colvin this year, who will likely take over one of the starting CB spots once healthy, and next year, we'll upgrade the other one in the draft....leaving Gratz out of  the top 2 (starting CB) gig.
If you're basing his ability and how good he is based on numbers, then the vantage point of a good CB is skewed. A shut down CB usually does not have a lot of interceptions because the QB doesn't throw the ball that direction that often. I would rather see QBs not even look that way; thus creating low "numbers" for the CB. I saw good play from him last year as a rookie. He wasn't a 1st round talent DB taken, so let's keep that in mind. There's always room for improvement. But to say he stinks and isn't worth using is way off.

GO JAGS!

Yeah, I get that, and I don't think I used the phrase "he stinks" here at all. I just don't think he's more than an average player and he's one that will likely not be a starter once Colvin and next year's CB draftee are in the fold.

At UCONN, Gratz was very good.  Him and Blidi Wreh-Wilson made up one of the 2 or 3 best corner tandems in college football.  He had one game, I forget against who, where he gave up like 2 touchdowns, but other than that he was pretty good.

As a rookie, Gratz did about as well as any rookie corner can be expected, especially playing with injuries.  I don't think Gratz will be an elite corner, but he'll be a middle tier starting corner in the league for a very long time if he continues to progress.  I think we'll have a clearer picture by the end of this season whether he'll be a fixture at corner, or just a body that can hold it down while we address larger needs.

Cyprien struggled pretty bad at the start of last season, but I think that shouldn't come as a surprise for a rookie out of FIU who missed time in camp.  He came on pretty strong by the end of the season and flashed.  This season I expect a large jump from just average overall, to very good.  He's looked good so far in camp.
