Quote:Ah, I get it.

No, you don't.
Quote:Let's just discount the fact that there are a lot of TE's with worse drop percentages.  He's middle of the pack, so if he has 'bad hands' there are plenty of other as well.  Jimmy Graham must suck.
Or  Maybe his drop percentage is lower because he gets less balls thrown at him.  Logic sucks doesn't it?

Those other TIght Ends see many more balls coming their way because they get open.
Quote:Yeah, Falcons were awesome last year huh?
They had 1 bad year from injuries.  They have been a consistent team in making the playoffs for the past few years.  Gonzales played a huge role in that.

You're correct in saying you don't need a stud at TE, but it certainly does help.

Also of note, the Jaguars passed the ball about 180 more times than the Seahawks did. I wouldn't expect any of their receivers to have inflated numbers.[/quote

Marcedes missed a good amount of time last year because of injuries. And when dudes say he's made zero impact on the team since being here is a lie. He's the best TE we've ever had (I know there's not much to compare to) but still. A pro bowl appearance is saying a lot and tying a re record for touchdowns is impressive as we'll.

I also read that some dude earlier said Marcedes was a "reach" when drafted. Which is stupid because he was the Mackey award winner the previous year in college and we drafted him in the freaken 20's. Bunch of DF's

You clearly haven't been sharpening your junior GM skills by getting in adequate Madden time.
All in all however, let's all root for the dude to succeed. Especially this season.

One thing I do agree with marcedes critics is that if he doesn't have a good year this year..... He's probably DONE here in JVille. And deservedly so. Too much money to wait and see

Agreed on both counts.  We should be rooting for him to do well this year.  If he doesn't, he probably won't be on the roster a year from now.

Logic totally sucks.

Lol He missed five games last year.

Please... Please don't preach about logic.

Logic????   Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Are you that dumb?

Do you understand what a percentage is?

So in other words, you're telling me exactly what I said.

A stud receiving tight end does not necessarily correlate to a good record.

Thanks for making my point.

Well...his does anyway.

Math is hard.

I agree.  Math are hard.
Lots of oversensitivity in this thread.

Marcedes shouldn't exactly be off limits to criticism here. The mass-defense he seems to be getting is a bit overdone, IMO

I dont think anyone tried to act like he is off limits to criticism.

Well, 6 pages of largely defending Marcedes sorta speaks otherwise, despite the verbatim take of your quote maybe being correct,

Defense against unfair criticism is fair. Very few, if any, are depicting Marcedes as a top tier TE. He is what he is, and it's not his fault for being overpaid, nor can I fault him for confidence. Unfounded or not, it's better than a lack thereof.

Well then you're not reading very well.

LOL....Marcedes talking ability smack....this would be like Dan Uggla saying that pitchers are afraid to throw one over the fat part of the plate to him...
lol
