Also who do you think WILL get hired?

My hopes are for Tom Coughlin, I like the way he runs a tight ship, hes only had less than 6 losses in a season once in his 20 year coaching career, and that was his first year being a head coach. I think he can take us to the promised land. I think if Marrone wins next week, its going to be hard for Khan not to hire him for at least a year.

My top 3

Coughlin

Shanahan

Marrone

I really like what Cooter has done with Stafford and wish he could do the same for Bortles, but i fear he has too little of exp for what we need now. Kyle I think can also train a QB. My biggest problem with Coughlin is that Eli Manning always was a gun slinger and an interception machine....my fear is unless we get a QB whisperer for a OC job, that Bortles will do 3x worse then Manning ever did, and will regress even further.

I would prefer Mike Smith. I think it will be Todd Haley (he has a history with Dave)

I could go with Tom Coughlin but I don't think he's going to want to coach a roster of people Dave selects. I think he'd require veto rights on draft day to accept the job.

I think Tom Coughlin is the most likely next Head Coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.   You can add one vote to the total,  as the poll doesn't allow someone to vote only on one of the questions.   Out of respect to you and all of the Jaguars fans here,  I'm not going to vote on the preference question.

Tom Coughlin would be a great fit from at least the standpoint of his history as Jaguars HC,  his winning history,  and the team needing more discipline,  and structure    Even if TC only coaches for 3 more seasons,  that can make the world of difference in changing the culture of the Jaguars from where they have been in recent years.   Much like Bill Parcells did with the Jets.

If you can,  a request would be to add Teryl Austin to the list.   I'm interested to see how he does compared to other potential candidates.
I voted for Doug Marrone to get hired.   This is based on winning against the Colts.   Someone other than that means all new systems, all new coaching staff, and a lot of change.   But if Marrone can get us to beat the Titans and the Colts to close the season, I am willing to give the same guys another chance, just a new HC.

I think the choice will be Mike Smith.  He's experienced, he's likeable, he's had success, and Caldwell knows him very well from their time in Atlanta.

I voted Coughlin...Teryl Austin is one who could be in the mix as well

I picked Coughlin for obvious reasons.  I can see Haley or Mike Smith getting the nod.  Wasn't Haley a huge failure in KC though?

Nah, things got bad in his 3rd season though. His 2nd year he got a Matt Cassell lead Chiefs to 10-6 and the playoffs.

Hed be a good hire imo. 2nd go around is generally better than 1st for coaches. Look no further than the playoff race this week and what teams are in it.
I'm leaning toward Haley but haven't made a decision on my favorite yet.

It won't let me add to the total, otherwise I would. I agree think a culture change of hard work is the key to winning in the NFL. Every team has talent, what sets them apart is how hard they try. [BAD WORD REMOVED] Vermill was a new coach in the NFL and basically tripled the training regiment starting in NY and turned a team of losers into champs, look what he did though out the years after that, same with Coughlin, Belichick, and you mentioned Parcells. Just to name a few. I'm not saying they didn't try hard for Gus, it's that they didn't try hard enough. They weren't asked to give more then they were willing.

I want to see how we play next week under Marrone
Matt Patricia is the guy I want. I think he's going to be extremely successful wherever he goes.

  D. Vermeil is a prime example of what can benefit the Jaguars greatly at the HC position   Vermeil took over an Eagles team that had 1 winning season in the prior 14 seasons.   They had 13 losing seasons in that period.   In addition,  the Eagles already traded away many of their prime draft resources and there wasn't much movement in Free Agency at that point in time.  Hardly any movement.   Despite all of this,  Vermeil got the Eagles to the playoffs in his 3rd season and to the Super Bowl in his 5th season.   Vermeil did burn out.   Yet,  since Vermeil took over the Eagles,  they had never had a sustained period of double digit losing.

Though the 2017 version of Tom Coughlin is different than the younger version of D. Vermeil,  Coughlin should raise the standard of what's expected from Jaguars players,  coaches,  and support staff throughout the year.   Coughlin's winning history should get the attention of everyone associated with the Jaguars franchise.
Tom Coughlin is who I think we end up with and I would be happy with that. Anyone but McDaniels.
I want Kyle Shanahan or Jim Bob Cooter. I don't want Tom Coughlin or Mike Smith, which means one of those two will probably end up being hired. The Jags never do what I want.

Dave Toub

Mike Smith

Coughlin
I voted for other and prefer David Shaw out of Stanford to be our next head coach. He's running a pro style offense as it stands. He's learned from coaches like Bill Walsh, Dennis Green & Jim Harbaugh. He's had a lot of success at the college level and had plenty of NFL experience in the past as an offensive assistant and receivers coach for good teams in the early 2000's. I think he'd be a nice fit here in Jacksonville. I doubt it'll happen though. Stanford is a nice job.

But if I had to rank them in order:

1. David Shaw

2. Tom Coughlin

3. Mike Smith

I wouldn't bother with anybody else as Caldwell. Just those three coaches there alone I think are good enough to get this team in shape.

I'm thinking we should go with the Jags coach with the highest win percentage in our history...

Doug Marrone.

D6 - I agree totally, what Vermil did the first few years of his tenure was just short of a miracle. Imagine if we could find a guy like that.
