Best cap manager in the NFL.
Lol cap manager and general manager is a huge difference.

Quote:It would appear so after our GM has failed so miserably on selecting our former head coach and our supposed 'franchise quarterback'. Of course, the 'jury is still out' in some peoples minds regarding Bortles; the rationalization being that Bortles was the victim of poor coaching. Well, I say that our coaches have been to some degree the victim of poor quarterback play from Bortles... but we'll see.

Quote:For arguments sake, let's pretend hiring this guy was a great idea. Don't you then think firing Gus during the bye would have given this guy more time to do his due diligence?

Quote:Good lord.
He failed on Gus. This is common knowledge. There is no doubting that the talent level is much better than 2-12 and some coaching staff that wouldn't allow Blake to go from what he did last year to this year, we wouldn't even be in this position. Last HC he hired it didn't work out. Doesn't mean he can't/isn't solid at scouting talent and drafting which is the main thing I want in my GM.
Dimitroff in ATL was the GM when they did this with Dan Quinn. Like seriously, people freaking out about bringing in professional help to help make sure we hit on this hire (which for this fanbase, is an absolute must), what the hell is the problem? Bring in as much help as you need to make sure we don't [BAD WORD REMOVED] up. It's been 9 freaking years since our last winning season.

Those are facts.
Here's an opinion for ya: KY doesn't know what he's talking about.

Quote:When Gus was fired is completely irrelevant to this process. The team isn't hiring a permanent replacement in December. All Hughes offers is another tool in the toolbox to be used to identify the best fits for this organization, and present that to Caldwell. I'm honestly not sure why having well-informed input in making a huge decision like this is somehow a bad thing, but you've certainly tried to spin it that way.

Quote:I guess I am just confused what the GMs actual responsibility is, that's all.
Quote:Is it reading too much into it to suggest Shad doesn't white trust Caldwell to select the new HC?I would guess that the only person who could definitively answer that question is probably Shad himself. On the surface, Shads action here would suggest that his trust in Dave is shaken to the point that he is acquiring outsider input regarding a new coach selection. But we don't know if that's really his motive or not; this is all speculation and may be completely wrong. Appearances aren't always reality, after all.

I will also say this. If Marrone does the same thing next week. That would be shutting down not only 2 rivals. But two Playoff chances teams. So a double spoiler.

Hes going to take what they say into consideration and do what GMs normally do. Its not that difficult to get
Quote:last season bortles lit it up. this season bortles stinks. so should the jury still be out on a young qb who has showed tons of promise that was playing under a coach that has shown the opposite? id say yes.Last season, Bortles did 'light it up'... at times. At other times, he stunk out loud. This season, he has consistantly stunk out loud... until today when it was too late to produce a meaningful win. Is there a correlation between Bortles production and Gus no longer being here? If there is, then you would also have to wonder if Bortles was intentionally torpedoing the offense because of Gus.
By the way, how is bortles looking today? the actual first week of play after gus gets fired and hes looking like a new qb.

And if don't hit a certain number won't get paid. So no game outside of fan perspective is in fact meaningless.

CONSPIRACY THEORIST SUGGESTING JAGS QUARTERBACK TANKED GAMES TO GET GUS BRADLY FIRED! ALL FORUM READERS SHOULD WEAR ALUMINUM FOIL HATS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM WACKED CONSPIRACY THEORIST IDEAS.
The only rational answer I can offer is... I dunno why all the sudden Bortles is playing at a much higher level than we've seen practically all season. Perhaps someone in a prominent position in the franchise informed him that his franchise quarterback tag isn't unassailable after all and that he had better start producing or he might be riding wood next season. Who knows?
Quote:Good God some of you people are dense. Scouting football talent and finding a coach are two totally different things. I love the idea that getting more opinions that specialize in this particular field is somehow a bad thing.
