Maybe he cared. I'd like to think that's the case. But, his actions certainly call into question just how much he actually did care.

Fred Taylor cared. Even when he knew he'd lost a step, he did everything in his power to be sure he stayed in great shape to stave off Father Time. MJD went to Golden Corral.

So him caring about possibly still wanting to stay on the same team that drafted him even after his holdout failed, plus being injury ridden the last couple of years, and only making the playoffs once during his career all of a sudden is overshadowed by what he said to the media once he signed with another team?

Not everybody is going to follow the mold like Fred Taylor. Different people are just that, different people.

There is also a segment of people who like Taylor more because he is a local unlike MJD. Him training during the offseason in California points to this.

Quote:I dont understand it either.

He has a right to voice his opinion just like any other player who feels they have been slighted by their former team.

Fine, if he has the right to voice his dumb opinion, I have the right to voice mine.

I feel slighted that MJD came into camp out of shape and fat and didnt seem to care the last two years.

Last time I checked, he came off a serious foot injury that took a long time to heal, and was still able to put up marginal numbers.

What has MJD done to you personally to cause you to hate him with a passion?

How much money has he made off the Jaguars? How much money have I given the Jaguars year after year for season tickets?

If you are going to trash the team I root for and put money into, its going to annoy me.

His serious knee injury caused him to do nothing? Why did he never workout in Jacksonville? The Jaguars have trainers that could have at least put some sort of workout routine/diet in place for him.

He didn't care. Just like the little fight he got in at the Conch House....we all know he did it.

HAHAHAHA!!! reaching at its finest smh...

I'll defend the jags till the death but if this ticks yall off, I hate to see how yall would feel if he said he dosent like how Everbank is built... Yall might go to the man house all the way in Cali lol!

How is that reaching? We all know he hit the guy, and at the time (because we are fans of the Jags) we hoped he wouldn't get charged.

He has made alot of money from play with the Jags, I dont know how much you have financially invested in the Jaguars. I am trying to figure out the correlation.

He just gave his opinion, and even said it was a business. Him feeling like he was did wrong (IMO) does not equate to trashing the team. See Aaron Ross, Hugh Douglas

As I said in a earlier response, the reason why alot of people like Taylor more is because he is a somewhat local, but because MJD is a Cali guy and chose to workout during the off-season in his home state rubbed alot of people the wrong way. I am starting to get a sense you are one of those people.

You cant be serious about the last part.

It's part of the pitchfork crowd.

This.. IMO What Mark Brunell said was far more trashing to the TEAM and CITY then anything MJD has said.

Cause you have to result to that situation to try and sell your point. Your reaching... Whats next? He didnt sign enough autographs at camp for your liking? lol..

I see a trend here that you are infatuated with pointing out the evil in people, ie Winston thread, and my posting. Can you (or anyone else) point out all the good things MJD has done in Jax during his tenure here?

MJD wasnt even charged in that situation. It's just another thing to hate him for.

Lol, lets rehash the Winston thread....because we all know that everyone who has done a crime is always charged....Please don't make things up and say I like to point out the evil in people. I point out the obvious.

MJD did a lot of good things for charity, but there were also a lot of things said and done here throughout his career that were questionable.

I would have rather him gone to Oakland, shut his mouth, and put in some work to make himself better. Instead he wants to play the poor me routine again to make himself feel better, and in his mind generate motivation. Whatever makes him feel better, but saying he was treated unfairly is disingenous.

In absolutely no way was MJD slighted or "Done Wrong" by the Jags organization, it's fans nor the city. To say as much is insincere and frankly quite little of him IMO. Just makes him come off childish. Don't misconstrue these sentiments as "Hate" towards the man or to devalue what he did in the community, two separate issues all together.

You said it way better than I could.

All the sudden I'm apart of a mob and want to bring pitchforks. I want him to shut his mouth and play football. If he kept his mouth shut about Jacksonville and had a good year I would be happy for him (Oh wait, I like to point out the negative in people, right Chicken?)

So you like pointing out the obvious then, ok gotcha. My whole point is you look to prematurely judge someone before the facts come out or has already been made public. Which is what this thread, and the Winston thread illustrates.

You barely can give examples of the good MJD has done for Jax, but again you steadily focus on the negative narrative.

Remember back in December you challenged me to be objective and to look at things objectively, well I ask can you do the same?

Lol, I can give quite a few things MJD has done....in fact, I've gone to quite a few of his charity events. Do you want to make more things up? Just because I didnt give you a list, dont assume....right?

What am I not being objective about? He sat out with two years left on his contract. MJD's contract was up in Jacksonville after the terms of the contract were completely played out and he ended up signing in Oakland. He has now said negative things about Jacksonville at least twice since he left. He now says that the team wasn't loyal to him. Do you see the hypocrisy here?

We can have this discussion go on for 3 pages, but I think I can end it here. You are just as stubborn as me and we both have differing opinions. I can't restate my opinion any better to make you understand it.
Quote:I never said it bothers me what anyone says.

Continue to play the scorned/hurt lover role.

You said he has a right to voice his opinion in response to those voicing theirs. It works both ways.

I think its hard for you to come out and say (now) straightfoward that MJD is a great person and you have participated in a few of his charity events after accusing him of doing "a lot of things said and done here throughout his career that were questionable."
Which were your words, not mines.

He had a right to sit out for a new contract regardless if we like it or not, or thought it was the right move on his part or not. For the record, I didnt like him sitting out of training camp, but I understood and respected his reasoning for doing it, and never held a bitter personal grudge against him.

If he said disrespectful, personal, hateful things about the City of Jacksonville and the people, then I would understand people being upset, which is a different story. I will try to find the link to see what specifically he said (if you or anyone else can provide a link I would appericate it).

I understand your posistion, so there was never any need in the first place to keep re-instantiating it, or whatever else you was trying to do.

He should be thankful instead of playing the woe is me card. It definitely takes away some of his luster. He was paid well while here.
