Quote:He didn't have any, "bad" games, but he did have some average ones, one against Rutgers.
He's going to be a really good QB. Matt Ryan/Ben Roethlisberger-esque good.
He will have avg games in the NFL, and some bad ones too. If people are going to hold that against him, then he has no chance. When the pressure was on, Teddy showed up.
If Teddy is on the level of Ryan or Ben, then we need to take him at 3. Those are elite QBs.
Quote:Games?....Games don't matter....its only how they look in pro days & combine that matters, apparently.....lolz.
IMO Teddy is getting the age old let's find everything that's wrong about him and bash him for it thing that happens every year with prospects. These are the guys that I want to draft. So far the only "weakness" I see with Teddy is that he wears gloves. And that isn't even a weakness to me. If he is comfortable throwing with gloves then so be it. It isn't against the law.
I'd rather them take Teddy at 3 than Mack.
Bridgewater's accurate , smart , mobile and mature with more than enough arm to succeed. He commands the offense and understands situational football to the point of being almost machine like on 3rd downs. His only mechanical flaw is not setting his feet correctly for deep balls but it has already been explained that his offense didnt focus on those passes in progressions first. Other than that no consistent flaw exists in his game. He doesnt have a back foot Derek Carr under pressure habit or a Manziel take off for no reason when the play is right there habit. No decision making issues as he rarely is careless with the ball. No weird hitches/stutters in his throwing motion or footwork and he doesnt get rattled by pressure.
Footwork - A
Accuracy- A
Arm Strength - B+
Mobility - C+
Timing - A
Size - C+
Poise - A+
Toughness - B+
@Aaron_Nagler: This is great. RT @Andrew_Garda @MattWaldman's takedown of "anonymous NFL exec" and Bridgewater - check it out -

even if bridgewater only winds up being AS good as matt ryan (who i believe will be a top 3 fantasy qb this year. little free fantasy advice for everyone) then that would still be a steal at the third pick. ryan was picked at 1. i think bridgewater is even more of a stud than ryan and i still think he will be the best qb in this draft by far.
i hope caldwell plays it smart and drafts teddy in the mold of the falcons taking ryan.

Ryan was actually picked at #3 overall, but your point remains.
I disagree with you though in that I don't think Bridgewater will be as good as Ryan. When he was at BC, Ryan
was that whole team. He was playing with scrubs and still made them dangerous. Bridgewater had some receiving talent on his roster that Ryan would only dream of.

On offense, yes. It was pretty much Gosder Cherilus and nothing else around him.
BC actually had a pretty solid defense with BJ Raji, Ron Brace, JoLon Dunbar, Jamie Silva and Dejuan Tribble. And you're welcome for resurrecting some of those names from your mental draft archive.

The Defense, yes. But that offense was really bad. And Ryan went to Virginia Tech and played against Brandon Flowers, Kam Chancellor, Jason Worilds, Vince Hall and Xavier Adibi and beat those guys.
Still can't believe he pulled that win off.
I still can't figure out how an awful FSU team went in there and beat BC. They were ranked either 2nd or 3rd at the time and FSU shut them down.
People differing on QB's?!!! Shocking!

i stand corrected. but the qb is a position that you can just look at and see how good they are. ive seen teddy just pick apart teams. he will do that in the nfl too.

But he picked apart some pretty scrub teams. I know you will now point to the bowl games vs Florida and Miami, but I will point out that in the NFL he is not going to have 3-4 weeks to prepare for his opponent.
I think he could potentially develop into a good to elite level QB, but he isn't ready to start IMO as Ryan did.

All that matters is that he picked them apart.

I really don't think that is all that matters is that he picked them apart......
Chad Henne his last year at Michigan shredded the Florida Defense in the Capital One Bowl 41-35. And he has the size and arm strength teams primarily look for in a Franchise QB.
I know TB excels in the mental aspect, but his lack of arm strength and possible core mechanics is an issue. His smarts are only going to get him so far if he doesn't continue to develop his physical ability, just as Henne has only gotten so far with his physical ability as he lacks the mental side.....
Not saying he will be bad, just think he needs time to sit 1 - 2 years. And I don't think you should use a #3 pick on that this day and age in the NFL.

I don't really understand this post. Teddy has the mental makeup and is extremely advanced in all aspects of the game (line calls and audibling).
How will his smarts only get him so far? Being able to win before the play is the best attribute a qb can have and it's not like teddy has insufficient tools. He has plenty of arm to make every throw needed.
Core mechanics, I guess would be his size? And I don't see any reason why he can't start week 1. Chenne sure as hell won't win the starting job against teddy.

I would much rather have a QB who's best trait is his mind than someone who has the best physical tools: Jamarcus, Boller, Leaf, Jeff George....
I wasn't convinced on Bridgewater until watching a few of Louisville's games this year. For a team that has quarterback issues for so long, he's worth a shot to me. Trade down to 7-10 and still have a shot at Bridgewater, I'm for it. Draft him at #3, I'm not mad either.

Bridgewater's arm strength is fine.
Henne also showed the same type of inconsistencies in college that he shows now.
Bridgewater was efficient week in and week out in college, he excels mentally and has all the physical tools needed to succeed on the NFL level.

We will find out when the season starts. Its all opinions/projections right now.
The best QB in this class could be a guy who we are hardly talking about right now.
The facts will be proven on sundays over the next few years. We will just have to agree to disagree about if Teddy is ready to lead a team day 1 or if he is worth the #3 pick.
The latter argument will be proven once the season starts.....either he will start or he wont, and if he does start we will see how well he does his first year and compare it to other rookie QBs who have done the same.
Bridgewater will crumble in the face on an NFL defense.
