The poor Pro Day led Mayock to go back and look at more tape. He did not like what he saw when he looked deeper.

Perception is following reality, which some scouts and GMs have been hinting at for a while now, only for the media and draftnicks to lag behind.

Ah yes, Mike Mayock, general manager of all 32 teams.

Quote:Why would they regret that? The Falcons have won one playoff game since drafting Matt Ryan...
Now if you want to say they regret taking Phillip Merling and Chad Henne (#33 and #57 respectively) instead of trading back into the first to select Joe Flacco at #18....I would say they probably regret that.
Well, because the guy they picked 1 overall is no longer with the team, and Ryan is objectively far better than Tannehill.

Both of these made me lol.

And its not even like he's trashing him in his rankings (although IMO he's more of a 1a with Bortles or no less than 2, not the 3rd best)

But how can a guy who loved his tape that he's watched hours of go back and watch the same tape and not like it?
I think he's trying to build up JF to get in the nike commercial and get a check

Teddy is not a Arians guy, probably wouldnt even draft him if he fell. If Bortles falls a little it wouldnt shock me at all if Ari. trades up to try and get Bortles.

I'd probably wait to say I told you so until I've seen the guy play in the NFL,or at least even drafted.

Quote:Kind of like you do, with everyone not named Bridgewater? So am I a "hater" now, being I have said he could be a steal at 15-20?What? I've stated I wouldn't pick Teddy in the Top 3.
What do you still not understand?

Mayock doesn't even cover NFL teams, he just covers the draft.

Teddy wont fall out of the top 10 and he will be a great QB for many years to come. I couldnt complain if they wanted to pick Mack or Watkins over him though even though I dont agree with it.

Quote:Wow, you're really not bright.Obviously you are pretty ignorant if you think that coveys your point.
My point is that even the worst QBs can have a good Pro Day. They mean absolutely nothing.
The fact that the worst QBs have had good pro days does not diminish the fact that Bridgewater had a bad pro day. It makes having a bad pro day look that much worse. If you want to make an argument supporting Bridgewater you should have pointed out good QBs that had bad pro days.
I hope you don't plan on being a lawyer some day. You would be your clients worst enemy, but you probably wouldn't pass the bar making arguments like that for your clients.
But that doesn't mean anything because bad lawyers pass the bar.

If the Cards take any QB it would be Mett or Carr.
And Teddy Bridgewater had a bad pro day, that really doesn't happen often enough to predict one thing or the other. Norv Turner thought it was good anyway.

palmer is on a contract year and carr seems set to fall out of the top 10
i think he will fall and if he gets past the titans at 11 he is pretty set to make it to 20
sit him behind palmer for a year and you could have an ideal replacement

You really are clueless. If you think an hour long workout in shorts is going to override 39 games of tape I will gladly call you an imbecile.

If a bad pro day changes your entire idea that much on a guy, then there's something wrong. Gabbert, Jamarcus Russell, and Brandon Weeden all had "good" pro days. It's so stupid at this point.

It's so stupid at this point.Talking about people having 'good' pro days isn't the point. I can't believe people are comparing good pro days and bad pro days. They're supposed to be set up to showcase a player's talents. What's that say if they have a bad one? I think a bad pro day says a hell of a lot more than a good one.
Should it be the sole basis of drafting a guy? Obviously not. But what if you aren't completely sold on the guy going in and he stinks it up? You honestly think that's not going to raise some questions?

It could raise some questjons that make you go back to the tape. Not make a snap judgement and drop a prospect down your draft board.
Pro days don't mean anything until it affects your belief. If you don't like teddy it's important. If you like him, who cares.
I personally don't care how a qb throws at a pro day. If he is accurate on Saturday he will most likely be accurate on Sundays. I don't think the pro day and Sunday throws are correlated at all.

I'm sorry. But if that is true than he did a pretty terrible job of scouting him in the first place.
