Quote:Bridgewater will crumble in the face on an NFL defense.

100% coming back to this thread at the end of the year haha
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if one or more NFL GM's,  coaches,  and/ or scouts are trying to create the perception that Teddy Bridgewater is a highly flawed QB.  For the purposes of their respect team having the opportunity to draft him as a result.

I might be coming back to this thread May 9th if he takes that big tumble to the 2nd round...

I seriously doubt it though. I can't see him lasting past the Cardinals pick, if he even takes a fall that big. But 2nd round would be a huge shock to a majority, and an even bigger shock than Geno Smith's fall to the 2nd round.

We will find out when the season starts. Its all opinions/projections right now.

The best QB in this class could be a guy who we are hardly talking about right now.

The facts will be proven on sundays over the next few years. We will just have to agree to disagree about if Teddy is ready to lead a team day 1 or if he is worth the #3 pick.

The latter argument will be proven once the season starts.....either he will start or he wont, and if he does start we will see how well he does his first year and compare it to other rookie QBs who have done the same.

Anyone you have in mind? I think every QB has been talked about on this board since we know we need one.
If teddy falls late let's say to the cardinals sits for a little bit and has Bruce Arians coaching him Look out lol

I agree.

Not really, but what about a guy like Keith Wenning, etc?

And Keith Price
Quote:I really don't think that is all that matters is that he picked them apart......

Chad Henne his last year at Michigan shredded the Florida Defense in the Capital One Bowl 41-35. And he has the size and arm strength teams primarily look for in a Franchise QB.

I know TB excels in the mental aspect, but his lack of arm strength and possible core mechanics is an issue. His smarts are only going to get him so far if he doesn't continue to develop his physical ability, just as Henne has only gotten so far with his physical ability as he lacks the mental side.....

Not saying he will be bad, just think he needs time to sit 1 - 2 years. And I don't think you should use a #3 pick on that this day and age in the NFL.

Firstly, Bridgewater does not "lack" arm strength.  Smh.

Secondly, I honestly want to know: What core mechanics are you referencing?

I've cooled on Teddy some, but Manning has average arm strength and has done quite well due to the mental aspect of his game, I'd say.
I don't get where he slid down?  Guess I missed something, but his game tape hasn't changed at all for me the last two months.

But his Pro Day was, 'terrible'. :teehee:

I didn't really hold his pro day in that regard. And I didn't hold Johnny Manziel's pro day in high regard either. I still have both players ranked where I had them at the end of the season.

I said if we do take a QB at #3 that I would prefer to take that chance on Manziel just because of his upside. However, I don't think any QB in this draft is worth a top 10 pick. I have a mid first round grade on TB (15 - 20) and I have a Late first to early 2nd round grade on Manziel, based on where they are right now. I have been saying that for pretty much the last 2 - 3 months.

Oh the draft happened already?

I've been hoping for an answer to this as well.

The spot where he releases the football and his weight distribution or lack thereof.....

Things that can be cleaned up over time, and will give him more velocity on his throws and better deep accuracy as well.

Also, even though Manning has average arm strength he is also 6' 5" and has a prototypical QB build, not to mention one of the quickest releases in NFL history. It could be argued that TB's release is not even faster than Manziel's, and IMO it's not....

Yeah. We lost.
Quote:even if bridgewater only winds up being AS good as matt ryan (who i believe will be a top 3 fantasy qb this year. little free fantasy advice for everyone) then that would still be a steal at the third pick. ryan was picked at 1. i think bridgewater is even more of a stud than ryan and i still think he will be the best qb in this draft by far.

i hope caldwell plays it smart and drafts teddy in the mold of the falcons taking ryan.
Ryan went #3, Jake Long went 1

Man, Miami probably regrets that.  Parceeeeeeellls!!!
Quote:People on here search to find every single little thing that can be used as an argument against Bridgewater and often reach and make themselves look foolish, alah Pirkster, and flgatorsandjags. They are not the only two, of course.

Teddy is not a Top 5 talent. He IS a Top 10 talent, though.

NFL.com and ESPN.com do this with a prospect every single year. They purposely put out dumb articles to sway the public's opinion about a player.. It's weird, because this happened a lot with Cam Newton and RG3 from what I remember. Not that they have any correlation.  :whistling:
Kind of like you do, with everyone not named Bridgewater? So am I a "hater" now, being I have said he could be a steal at 15-20?

Quote:Man, Miami probably regrets that.  Parceeeeeeellls!!!

Why would they regret that? The Falcons have won one playoff game since drafting Matt Ryan...

Now if you want to say they regret taking Phillip Merling and Chad Henne (#33 and #57 respectively) instead of trading back into the first to select Joe Flacco at #18....I would say they probably regret that.
