Quote:The question is - will they sell weed when it becomes legal in Florida? The "medical" marijuana vote is the first step.

As weed starts becoming legal in more places I think you'll see fewer establishments selling cigarettes. You'll have to meet some guy in an alley and pay $150.00 for a carton.

I can't remember where but I saw Marlboro had already purchase so much air time for Super Bowl in 2016 to advertise Weed smokes
Quote:They are a private business and can sell, or not sell what they choose. I always thought it was interesting that a pharmacy also sold smokes. Over the years, how many folks do you suppose picked up smokes and their COPD medicine in the same visit at places like this?

I personally saw that happen numerous times

I was going to make the same point.  It's ironic to me that the place you typically go to that helps you get better sells the same stuff that can put you there in the first place.
It's a good start for CVS.

Now if they can just get rid of the sugar filled sodas and candies that cause diabetes, and the sodium packed chips and ramen noodles that causes hypertension then we are talking big time.

Yep, im very serious. Their campaign to increase healthy living will be half hearted if they don't get rid of the food and beverages that contributes to the obesity rate.

To call it half hearted is rather ridiculous.

What makes it ridiculous? The fact that they can stop selling cigarettes is understandable, but people also die from heart disease because of obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure.

What about people with low blood sugar?  One of my best friends has low blood sugar.  If her sugar goes too low (and this goes for those with high blood sugar as well) she will pass out.  Usually she ends up having to drink a Coke to get her sugar to go up.

Smoking doesn't affect other people around them who choose not to smoke. You eating a candy bar doesn't affect me if I am sitting near you. (Unless it makes you gassy, if so, stand clear.)

Go to a dollar store or anywhere else that isn't shifting their business model over to pharmacy primary health care prototype.

Well my ex girlfriend is a severe asthmatic from second hand smoke from her parents smoking.

People consistently eating candy bars/snacks, etc and not exercising effects me if they are uninsured and has to take a trip to the ER.

Still waiting on your answer to my question I posed earlier with you calling my assertment of CVS halfhearted, ridiculous.

I did. Right after you asked.
Well CVS is losing 2 billion dollars profit.  To call that half-hearted is a bit ridiculous.  That's a lot of money. Even for a corporation.

They knew the risk they was taking when the pulled they plug on the cigarettes.

If CVS are going to going in that direction, pull all the unhealthy food and beverages as well, if not then their effort is half hearted.

JFC's mind is made up. Not even logical replies will change that. This is how it always goes.

Oh, I saw it. I'm not to good at spotting sing and dance answers.

So were my replies logical as well?

No. They were "go to a dollar store", "they knew the risk", and continuing to call the move half hearted.

No good deed goes unpunished is the old saying. (at least by some anyhow).
