Thanks for the suggestion.

Stop it, just stop it.
What in the H is going on around here. JFC, what kind of world do you want to live in? Maybe CVS should also make you walk on a treadmill for 15 minutes before you can even start shopping at their store or otherwise it is just a halfhearted effort.
JFC has a legit point to an extent, but he has inflamed it to an obtuse state. He is correct about other items at CVS being unhealthy to an extent. He is wrong in calling removing smokes a half-hearted effort.

To compare JFC to TMD is flat out silly though. JFC likes to debate, and brings it hard every time. What he doesn't do is troll the hell out of the rest of us. No agenda, no derailing everything, no twisting and turning everything into something else altogether. Dude is nothing like TMD. I enjoy reading his posts every time.

PS: JFC, you would have been better served to go after the beer first. They do sell beer.  Wink

Lets have fun with this:

I recommend CVS starting up a Customer healthy living program. Every time a customer goes to their minute clinics and chooses to get weighed they can get a discount on their store (non-pharmacy) transaction. They can opt-in and opt out at any time.

5-20 lbs 5% Discount

21-60 lbs 10% Discount

61-100 lbs 15% Discount

101-200 lbs 20% Discount (Max)

What a difference someone with a mature response will do.

At first, I was dug into my stance, but after reading this and giving it a brief though, I will admit to a extent (very small) it was overbearing to call CVS' actions half-hearted.

Everything you said about me and TMD is spot on.

See guys take note, when someone posts a respectful response, I can be willing to back off my stance. If you all can try this approach, we can cut down on the juvenile disagreements/arguments by about 60%.

Maybe they think that along with the class a narcotics and alcohol they peddle that smokes were just to convenient. No sense in having three addictive drugs available at the same place. "LOOK LADY, I GOT'S MY OXY AND A 12 PACK OF BUSCH LIGHT, AND I AIN'T LEAVIN TILL I GOT MY FRIGGIN SMOKES DAMMIT"!

naw not stoopid at allz

Respectful debates are an interesting concept, but its more entertaining to some on here to compare posters just because.

Comparisons would not be needed if, as Dakota put it, points were not "inflamed to an obtuse state". When called out on it you dig your heels in and dig deeper. I called it like I saw it and you dislike that. I can't help that.

The juvenile whine fest continues.....

As for your cherry picked quote, are you that enraged because Dakota put out a mature response that got me to (partially) reconsider my stance?  The funny part is you could have done the same thing and I would have given you the same response, your little brother Diesel was close though but he killed it when he said he couldn't take me serious. But because you were afraid to do so, you "called it out" just re-inforced my belief of the juve like behavior that takes place on here is celebrated more than someone posting a mature response.

As he said, comparing me to TMD is silly because of the reasons said above, but yet you choose to ignore that, I wonder why? Are you afraid to admit it was a ridiculous point? Are you willing to even reconsider that at all? Let me guess, you will probably come up with a lie excuse saying you just wanted to see more "entertainment".

The first line is so ironic after you read the rest of the post, and thread.

I am not, he pointed out exactly what started this mess to begin with which was that your assertion that CVS's pulling of cigarettes was a half hearted attempt was "rather ridiculous". It was ridiculous.

As for the TMD comment, you do at times go off on tangents that resemble TMD, looking to keep an argument going just because. Again, proof in this thread. I made the ridiculous comment on page two, and look what it became because you thought what I said (which you now have come to say it was wrong) ticked you off. So yes, that comes off a tad TMD'ish to me at times.

You are trying so hard to convince yourself that I "go off on tangents that resemble TMD" you just cant pay attention that I reconsidered my stance on CVS.

Is it eating you up inside that someone else posted a respectful, logical response that warranted a revision on my position?

Its no point in asking you to provide proof in me "going off on tangents that resemble TMD" because you will just give a blanket answer of "im not going to tell you...blah...blah...blah", thus resembling in you proving yet another baseless accusation.

I didn't point a gun to your head, or offer to pay you to respond to my initial quote in this thread, and subsequent responses thereafter, you responded on your own accord thus in a sense "keeping the argument going".

Your cherry picking is soo obvious at this point. What do you want from me, to beg for your mercy?

I am not trying to do anything. The proof is in the pudding. I offered up why it was a ridiculous point to say it was half hearted. I never attacked. There were also other posters who said the stance was off. You finally gave in and for that I give you kudos. It never, ever, ever would have gotten to where it did if you didn't dig in so hard, so fast and wouldn't relent.

You fail to see that it takes to for an "argument" to take place. This wasn't arguing, but you are free to feel that it was.

I haven't inferred or asked for you to "beg for mercy" or offer an apology because it's not needed. Again, the thread speaks for itself. I also want to point out that I have no problems with TMD, or yourself for that matter.

This is all fun and games, but if you think I "finally gave in" because you and other posters said my stance was off, you really have no clue what you are talking about.

Again, as I said in post 105, my stance on CVS was overbearing, but I still stand by my recommendations.

I know it must be killing you (and others) to try and ridicule someone who has a different POV not succumb to the manipulation at  hand.
Frankly, I don't know what the big deal is.  CVS made a business decision. They don't HAVE to sell a lot of items, and choose not too. If you want smokes, go somewhere else.  Btw, the other drug stores will be following suit.  It is just a matter of time.

Disclaimer:  I am a former smoker. I quit 13 years ago.

Recommendations are fine. The half hearted comment was ridiculous and that is what I pointed out to begin with. I never ridiculed, I, like you threw my opinion out there based on the half hearted attempt comments you made. You disliked that, hence where we are now.

I didn't say you gave in because of other posters. You finally admitted it was overboard, finally, after Dakota's post. The reason why doesn't matter.

Manipulation? goodness gracious, Wallbash

Overbearing and overboard are two different things.

And of course, in your eyes the reasoning for me softening my stance dosent matter in your opinion, you was just happy to see me "give in" right?
Can I get you guys anything? Water? Coffee?
