Quote:I remember we used to buy a carton of Marbols for about $36-$38 but would sell them for around $55-$56 (remember this is going back 5-6 years) I know the prices have gone up but I imagine the margins are about the same. somewhere around $2 a pack in profit.
I think higher taxes have hit that too.
Quote:I think higher taxes have hit that too.

yea I think that's why there closer to $8 a pack now

That's nuttier then snack mix!

Yes, a dollar pack to the State, and a dollar a pack to the Federal Gooberment.  I quit smoking on those numbers alone.  Laffer curve in full effect.
Quote:JFC, you're making a weak argument. Most people can drink a Pepsi or eat a Snickers with little to no effect on their overall health. You cannot say the same of even a single cigarette.

Nobody is crying for CVS, they will continue to grow and prosper.

So for kicks and giggles, since you included "most" in your comment, a doctor or primary care physician can give the clearance for one of their obese/high cholesterol/cardiovascular disease  patients to drink a Pepsi, or Snickers with little to no effect on their overall health right?

Also, its hilarious to think im even making a argument even if its "weak".

Speaking of "weak"

Quote:I haven't made the comparison before with TMD, but I see it.

I have pointed out before though what is being observed now. There's a pattern.

You keep making these accusations about me, but dont have evidence.

Come on, spill the beans, what compares me to TMD?

Quote:It's not the first time.

I never told a lie on here, what are you talking about?

Man that is high

I didn't say you lied. It's a pattern of senseless drivel. The evidence is across many, many posts.

So its ok for you to lie, but when I give a different POV, its considered senseless drivel?

When did I lie?

And which part of "I didn't say you lied" did you not understand?  First sentence in reply to that post, "So it's ok for you to lie"

This is the garbage that goes on with you. Just a pattern of making no sense.

In post 85 I was making a mockery of your posts.

As you confirmed, I said most.

About 8% of Americans are diabetic.

About 36% of adults and 17% of children are obese.

17% of adults have high cholesterol.

About 12% of adults have some form of cardiovascular disease.

The bottom line is that "most" is conservative.

Most doctors will tell you to avoid over consumption of carbs and sugars, no matter what your health situation, but very few will tell you that a Coke or candy bar on occasion is going to really hurt any but the most extreme cases of patients with the above conditions. The risks to the majority of consumers from junk food pales to that posed by tobacco,.

The point is most doctors will tell you to avoid fattening processed sugars, and carbonated sugary drinks if you have the one of the conditions above. If they tell you its ok to have a Coke or candy bar on occasion, then they are contradicting their own plan to get you healthy.
