With Caldwell being a needs based drafter, our draft will more than like likely look something like this:

3. Khalil Mack OLB Buffalo

39. Travis Swanson C Arkansas

70. David Fales QB San Jose St.

101. Kelcy Quarles DT South Carolina

110. Jackson Jeffcoat DE Texas

132. Kapri Bibbs RB Colorado St.

138. Jacob Pederson TE Wisconsin

147. Jimmy Garoppolo QB Eastern Illinois

163. Pierre Desir CB Lindenwood

199. Cody Hoffman WR BYU

I'm definitely a B.A.P. kind of guy but unfortunately Caldwell is not. I have a feeling come draft day  that when our pick comes around we'll rarely see B.A.P. come off the board. It's evident from last years draft that need supersedes value. It will be interesting to see how the draft goes especially with the extra ammunition we have to move up. I'm predicting a boring draft like the one above^.

Joeckel was BAP by far
I don't think we need two QBs.

And then he proceeded to take a SS over a CB, A CB over an OG, a slot WR over OG, a scat back over a CB. That was definitely a needs based draft if I've ever seen one.

It's kind of hard to give the guy credit over the Joeckel selection other than the fact that he passed up on Geno Smith which really wasn't that hard of a choice. Jooeckel was the consensus number one pick all season long, so to think he made some sort of revelation with that pick is somewhat misguided.

Aight well we already know Caldwell is a needs based drafter, he said it himself but you made it sound like Joeckel wasn't the BAP
Mack better be the next Lawrence Taylor if we take him 3rd overall.

Highly doubt Jimmy and Pierre drop that far. Pierre may be a second rounder and Jimmy could move himself up to the tail end of the second too. Jimmy is all the buzz right now. I do like the draft though, wouldn't mind it turning out like this

BAP according to who? Walter football? NFL.com? Random guy who blogs in his basement? lol

Everyone grades players different. I was unaware you had access to the jags big board rankings

That sounds more like BAP than needs drafting.

I don't see the validity in this point, Almost every position was a need in last years draft soooo....

Luke Joeckel was rated as the best college football player in America...the entire 2012 NCAA football season. EVERYBODY in the entire NFL scouting community agreed.

I'm glad you pointed that out.

I was referring to the part of the post about Dave taking a SS over a CB, CB over a OG and so on.

How do you know those were not the BAP on HIS board. You know, the board that actually matters...
Every team drafts for need.

You failed the trick answer very nicely.

The entire NFL scouting community also had Eric Fisher as the best college football player in America. Joeckel and Fisher were neck and neck from the Senior Bowl practices.

The Chiefs picked Fisher with the belief he was slightly feistier.

Yes, every team has needs and every team drafts.

Who do you pick?

Draft Grades

CB Dwayne Gratz - 62.1

OG Larry Warford - 88.3

He was the only BAP pick. Everyone else filled a need.

Get that grade shi t out of here. You've posted it before. I was unaware every team used the same grade sheet. If that's the case why have a draft at all. The "universal grade sheet" will just slot players. After the combine there will be magically created "universal grade sheet" created by NFL.com or some other website. Once team executives walk out of combine they will be given a "universal grade sheet". This will tell them who what players they will be given. No need on having the draft take up 3 days. We can have the entire thing done in 17 minutes.
