He's been stalking me commenting on almost every QB post that I make. Somehow he thinks because I have a Teddy picture I'm somehow blind to any and every QB except Teddy, which I've proven over and over isn't true. I just don't want an average, game managing, Dalton/Schaub/Ponder/Fitzpatrick/etc, QB purgatory...and that is what I deem Kirk Cousins to be also.

It's basically like saying because you have a Sean Connery picture that you refuse to like or watch any movie that has any actor except for Connery. Quite silly huh.

To expound some, I want Teddy, Carr, or Bortles out of this draft (if Blake declares), because those are the 3 QBs that I have evaluated and judged to have legitimate 50/50 or better franchise QB potential. I think Boyd, Manziel, Mettenberger, Hundley, and Garoppolo have roughly a 10-20% chance of being franchise QBs. I think Murray, McCarron, and Fales are quality backup QBs in the NFL.
Cousins for the right price.

Not for a second round pick, yes for a third round pick.

He is very talented, i like him, but will the redskins trade him?

By trading for Cousins, the jags can focus on both lines.

Perfect post.

There is nothing I disagree with here.

atburg, for some reason, thinks because we don't like cousins, we are content with Gabbert-esque QBs.

There are movies that don't star Sean Connery?

Edit:  And for the record, I think we'll get Bortles, Manziel, Carr, or yes, Bridgewater.  And I'm on board with whoever we draft over Cousins.

And as I mentioned before, I'm even on board with picking a guy like Carr or Bridgewater and going back for a guy like McCarron in the 2nd, just to cover all the bases.

Not stalking, when I watch you tear down every post someone makes if Teddy is not mentioned.
I agree that Cousins will forever be a game manager. I don't see "it" in him

I could care less about Cousins! Just love how you can dismiss him, but yet call a draft choice a sure thing! Im saying to look at all options.

Of course looking at your posts in this thread, I should not be surprised.
David Fales will be as good as Cousins, if not better.

I've never said any QB was a sure thing, but nice strawman again.

Let me make it clear (though everybody else seems to understand perfectly fine). I will explain it to you like I would explain it to my 8 year old niece.

"You want a gumball that costs 25 cents. Under one cup is either a penny or a quarter. Under a second cup, is either a nickel or a dime. You can only have what is under one of the cups."

In this analogy, the Super Bowl appearnce is the gumball. The penny is a draft bust QB, the quarter is a draft boom QB. The nickel is game-mager QB (Kolb, Flynn), the dime is a slightly above average QB (Schaub).

If you take the nickel/dime cup, you might end up with more money than somebody who ended up with a penny, but you still won't be able to get that gumball. If you take a game-manager/slightly above average QB, you may win a few more games than somebody who drafts a bust QB, but it's highly unlikely you are making it to a Super Bowl.

Thank you! In return I will explain it back the same way I would explain it to my 1 year old daughter. There is no way you can call someone a "game manager" without seeing his work, after a full offseason having an offense set to his strengths! RG3 was the starter, and a team is not going to change the entire playbook in a week! Im not saying he is going to win a super bowl, but not going to say he will not either. BTW, I would take the nickel over the penny everytime!
I watch over 90% of Michigan St.'s games every year. I'm not making my judgement off of one year. I'm making my judgement of of 3 full college seasons and a handful of scouting reports. So far, his NFL play is on par for what I've expected from him.

And of course you would be happy with the nickel. You and several others here are content with mediocre-at-best QBs.
To the original question, Bridgewater. Considering that Bridgewater will likely be gone before we pick, it depends on what we're giving up for Cousins and who will likely be there when we pick.

If you already have $.20 or $.15 and a nickel/dime cup,  then it makes more sense to take the nickel/dime cup.

I have seen Cousins play a few times since he is in our division. He has played pretty decently so far in his limited time. The Skins are missing their first round pick and would probably try to get that from you in a trade.

The answer is easy---Cousins. Bridgewater, Geno Smith and EJ Manuel all fall into the same category. Can anybody guess what they all have in common? I'll give you a hint. Doug Williams was the only one to win a Superbowl. They can't play quarterback.

Guys from south of the Mason Dixon can't win Superbowls? Dude you cray.

I havent been able to figure out how to do ignore people on the new forum, could you send me a pm explaining it real quick?
Quote:I will take Nick Foles over Cousins. Any time a team is trying to trade a QB, you don't want that QB. I think Houstan ended up with the best case scenario in that realm with Schaub, and it still isn't ending pretty. When you trade for a guy, you trade for someone who they don't think too much of right now. Like when Farve was traded from Falcons, like when Brunnel was gotten from GB, etc.

So in that vein you would want to look at someone like Ryan Mallet, or someone like that. Not Cousins, who we know Washington is trying to sell hard. If anything you steal RG3; not his backup who is playing so good they just can't wait to trade him. Getting Foles last year would have been a good trade. Getting Cousins this year looks a Schaub trade at best. And thats just not good enough to me.

I don't think the Eagles are gonna be trading off Foles or releasing him either. Mike Vick is done and washed up, so Foles is the future for them right now.  I like the idea of Ryan Mallet, I actually wanted the Jaguars to draft him over Gabbert . I felt he was the better prospect. I'm not really big on Teddy or any of the QB's in this draft class. In Caldwell we trust.LOL
