I guess to Urban Character still does not matter!!!

"I've dealt internally with the players, obviously Marcus Hall, Dontre Wilson and also there was another person who came off the bench that we had a discipline conversation already," Meyer said during a teleconference Sunday. "Certainly I am going to handle the discipline of this situation."

The master of discipline at it again.

Sounds like one of his UF press conferences!!!  LOL discipline conversation.."now you stop or we will set you against one of our many cupcakes on the schedule"....next year....
Come on guys, why don't you take Urban Meyer seriously? I think the players understand their actions in the second quarter were completely unacceptable and totally wrong because of their removal from the game. Why should they need more punishment than they already got?

I'm sure he just docked them a paycheck...seems reasonable to me.

And every other top program in the nation.

Because missing out one half of a game is a paltry punishment on most any level of football for being ejected from a game. In the Little League where I coach, any ejection means that the player cannot play for the next two games regardless of where they are in the season, even if it extends to the next season.
The fact that he had two players ejected for swinging ( Braxton Miller is lucky he didn't get tossed either) and that all they will have to do in terms of discipline is run a bunch of laps, on top of the fact that one player was caught on national TV flipping off the whole stadium compounded by the issues at Florida are why we can't take Meyer seriously. It is a tough spot for him to be put in with the national championship in the balance, so I will hold anymore judgement

Because what they did on the field would land them in jail if they did it off the field.  If they are that quick to resort to throwing punches on it, imagine how they are off it?

They have to know there are ramifications for choices in life.  The Big 10 wont do a thing because they want their boy in the national title game.

He suspended his star RB for 3 games, for his purported involvement in an off the field incident earlier this season, hardly what I would consider to be "taking punishment lightly" Things get heated in that game, it's one of (if not the) biggest rivalry(ies) in college sports. What more do you people want? You're all like Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory. You're never satisfied.

Which of course makes it right????? I have taught my children that "someone else does it" is not an excuse...maybe it is at osu???????

If he suspended the RB for three games earlier this season, then why doesn't he suspend these players for the same amount? Were the offenses comparable? Should they warrant the same punishment?

People that have knowledge of Meyer's history of "massaging" his player disciplinary actions take a jaded approach to this, and for good cause.

The RB was suspended for three walkover games (lol no shortage of those on the schedule)...yet a player who gets in a fight and gives the finger to 108K fans plays the next game....I think even the most hardcore osu fans would have a hard time defending this as they response they should see from their hc

So the multitude here expect him to suspend players for getting into an on field scrap with a heated rival, and all but assure that the BIG 10 championship is practically handed to MSU?

Anything to prevent tOSU from making the NCG, eh?

Exactly. Jesse Palmer said during halftime the Wolverines were playing better than they had all season because of the rivalry aspect of the game. The rivalry factor is the most likely reason that game had a major brawl and the previous 11 for each team did not. You will not see that kind of crap at the BTCG because MSU and OSU are not natural enemies. The only rivalry bigger than this one, if any, is Army/Navy. I heard years ago officials hate working at rivalry games. But I am not going to make excuses. Players have to control their tempers. A former supervisor told me to "roll with the punches" many times. Hopefully the ejected players learned that lesson.

Brad Nessler mentioned Carlos Hyde's three-game suspension, but did not go into detail about why Urban Meyer kept him out that long or what Hyde's mistake was.

It would be in Ohio State's best interests to not play in the NCG.
