Quote:Joe Paterno was only 85 one year. Before that I think he was like 70 or something. And someone said he aged more than 5 years in one year.

Regards................the Chiefjag

More like infinity.

He died very shortly after.  It certainly had a lot, if not everything, to do with it.
Quote:I wasn't aware of SnowWolf's prediction...that's pretty impressive.  Gus and company are doing everything they can to make him look like a genius.

A true savant.
Quote:Even if Coughlin is 50% of what he was as a coach he is still 10x better than Gus.

He will at the least, bring some respect back to Jacksonville and build toward the future.
I don't want "better than Gus". I want the best option possible, and I just don't think that's going to be Couglin at this point. Not in a HC role.

In the words of a great, great man. "What in the hell do we have to lose?"
Quote:"good" 3-4 years though? I'm skeptical. I remember a lot of fire Tom Couglin signs in the stands, articles, and SC segments wrapped around those two miraculous super bowl runs.

Yeah, I remember those Super Bowl runs, too.

Amazing how TC and the Giants beat Brady and Belichick - twice!
Quote:That is what makes it so hilarious. He never wavered even after being laughed at.

The prediction was definitely unpopular and it seemed very far fetched.   It took plenty of courage for him to remain firm with the prediction.
Quote:Dragon Fury has already been given the green light to work overtime to control the anticipatied meltdown and clean up the multiple whining threads that will be created.

Everyone reacts differently when a mega disappointing season concludes.  When I have experienced as a fan this type of season,  usually the reaction is of great relief.   Then the anxiety of what happens next occurs.

Like the threat of firing Jim Caldwell after last year? Jim Bob Cooter probably saved him because usually new GMs want their own guys.
Jim Bob Cooter is the one I like.

Quote:What exactly does a director of football operation do again??

directs the operation of the football team.

We could go full force redneck and bring Mayor Jake Godbold back too.

I could support that hire.

Sounds like a character from Petticoat Junction or Dukes of Hazard.

I was certain he was fictional when I heard of him a few years back.  I was wrong.

Though Ben Jones may be an upgrade at HC also.
