Quote:Future President, which means he hasn't been in the stressful position yet. TC has been in a stressful profession for 25 years.

More than 25 years. Jacksonville was not his first coaching job.
Quote:But the Giants lost some games last year because of terrible clock management after the two-minute warning. That was a big reason he missed the playoffs and lost his job.

How does a coach who is so good at in-game adjustments screw up at the most important time?
It wasnt clock management they were just letting teams drive on them for game winning drives regularly.
No way is tc gonna take Bradley's job.

Bradley gets another year because any fool including Kahn can see that if Blake was playing at least average we would have the winning record kahn expected.

Next year is our year.

If Blake is even somewhat improved..our defense is gonna carry us to several wins.

Pay attention to our defense rankings.

Watch our guys fly to the ball and consider...

Like 60% of them are really young...

Watch out next year
Quote:Someone please inform this psycho chick that SW predicted a 2-14 record in the midst of mega media and fan hype. As far as I'm concerned, he is Nostradamus.
If Blake weren't giving free possessions to opposing teams so regularly .we would have a lot more wins

He may have predicted two wins.

But there was just no credible evidence to support his prediction..he guessed.

Nostradamus KNEW he didn't guess.

Now had he said... next year we will be too and 14 Blake will have more interceptions than touchdowns and our defense will be top 5 I jump in his lap myself
In a sense it would not be surprising. But his age could work against him!

Everyone's prediction is a guess. That is the definition of a prediction. Just like the weather - nobody knows with 100% certainty it will be 70 degrees tomorrow.
Sign me up for Tom Coughlin in some type of role here.

What people have been saying in this thread is age does not work against him.
Quote:How many head coaches have won the super bowl with 2 different teams?

Coughlin may not be the answer as HC.

Superb owl?  How about being a pro team that actually wins here n there for starters?

As said, make Jags average again

The owls will come in generations Wink

All I know is the league respects him, and he knows the game

I say bogus (or uncalled) calls from zebras against Jags alone will change by 25%; that's like 2 wins snatched away from close losses

Fantasy and illusion.  Games aren't played on the stat sheet.  This team fails the eye test in all three phases of the game.  That improved defense is no where near the ball play in and play out.  Our middle linebacker is tied for the team lead in interceptions.
Quote:I don't want Coughlin. He was a good coach, a long time ago, but we got rid of him for a reason. He refuses to change and he's stubborn as a mule. When things aren't working, he keeps doing the same thing over and over, (sound familiar). That is why he wore out him welcome the first time. Isn't the whole point of getting a new coach, to find someone who is willing to try new things when the current situation is failing. I don't know if I would even watch a Jaguars team under the current Tom Coughlin as coach. The guy is older than God and he's stuck in his ways, from way back. What's the point?

A reason that Wayne Weaver regret, dont forget that..
Haven't posted in a  while, had to stay away. So disappointed in the team I love. Anyway, Coughlin would be a great choice. I really hope he comes back. This team needs discipline, Coughlin can install that. Even if its for 2 or 3 years, this team can rebound. We have the talent, we just need to execute it. Id love for Coughlin to come back for 2 years and groom a head coach for us.

I would be thrilled with Tom returning as the coach or as a consultant. if you listen to Tom, he's as sharp as ever. This man has many years left and I'd be totally on board with his return in whatever capacity they bring him back as. Even towards the end of his time here, his bad teams were still pretty good. He can flat out coach.

Sounds like Coughlin will probably wind up in the front office. We need a guy like him to serve up some accountability. Gus wouldn't have stuck around this long if Tom was keeping an eye on things.
Quote:You are replying to someone who never knows what he is talking about. He loves to make up stuff that makes no sense to anyone else.
are you talking about hurricane or yourself?
Quote:Gregg Popovich is 67 and breeds champions.

Gregg Popovich is still coaching at that level,  as the Spurs have opened the season with 13 straight ROAD wins.   The 2nd best total in NBA history already!
Why do people keep citing his age? He doesn't have to coach into his 80s like Joe Paterno. He can come in for a few years and change the culture and potentially groom a HC-in-waiting.
Also in this silly age argument, why are people forgetting Joe Paterno was 85?

This is not about grooming a head coach in waiting. If Tom Coughlin wants to return, he will just think about doing his job - coaching 53 players.

63 players if you include the practice squad
