Quote:100% true statement right here I wish others could get there heads around this

What people need to wrap their heads around is the idea that Tom Coughlin is not too old to coach again. I don't care how old he is if he can do the job better than anyone else on the market.

What?  Your right.  Yet wrong.  The game has changed.  From When tom was here.  The rules and game has changed.  DD be fined in todays game a lot.  As would a bunch of others.  Blake is not Brunell. None of our Rbs are Fred and No jimmy out there either or Brady.
I don't think that my comment had anything to do with Coughlin as it was agreeing with someone not wanting McCarthy to come to the Jaguars. I would love Coughlin in a Director of Football operations role like Caldwell's right hand man helping him restore this team since Coughlin has a ton of Connections in the NFL he can start with helping get a new Coaching Staff assembled

The game has not changed since Tom Coughlin's last job except for an increase in ejections, which is caused by a one-year experiment. He knows exactly what the game is like now. You're acting like he has not coached any team since the Jaguars fired him.

Yes it has.  Defenders cant hit ball carriers. If merely touch them penalized.  Do you not know the history of the Jags?  Our Defenders used to go to town on Receivers and Backs. Plus Is Blake, Brunell? Is Robinson, Jimmy?  Is Ivory, or, Yeldon, Freddie?  Is Hurns, or Lee, Keenan?  Is thomas, or lewis, Brady?  We don't have any of them.  The closest is our receivers.  Everyone else we don't have.

So are we drafting rb, te, and oline this year?  Cause no one worth drafting for qb.

Tom when with Giants had who?  Manning.  Is Bortles, Manning?

Really the same huh?

Quote:Terrible idea to hire a 70 year old. It isn't the 90's anymore.
Yeah cause he didnt win a superbowl in the 2010s lol
Some of the top coaches in the league are 65 and dont get this rep but coughlin is 5 years older and all of a sudden he thinks football is played with leather helmets.
I said this in the other thread, but I still think he'll end up as the head coach. I think it's what he wants to do, especially since he didn't get to leave on his own terms in New York, and Shad will welcome him with open arms. After a few years as the head coach, I think he'll then move onto being our football czar.

Really all that matters is his staff and whether Dave gets fired so we can have someone who can actually provide talent and get blake up outta here.

He won Super Bowls after the 2007 and 2011 seasons, both against the Patriots.

It also matters who the staff is replaced with, of course.

You know what else matters? People stopping their crap about Blake not being fixable with better coaching.

I honestly think that will be Tom's call. Shad will ask him if he thinks he can work with Dave to bring a winner to Jacksonville. If he says yes, Dave stays. If he says no, Dave gets the axe.

You can have Blake,  I would trade For Kirk if could.  Could he be fixed sure?  If he isn't?  You ready to watch the Jags go under 500 again? I am sure you are.  But unlike you. The only team I watch or have to time to the Jags.  So no backup team here.

I dont understand your first sentence, whos staff are you talking about?

Theres really no reason to believe he can be. He didnt work hard enough on his throwing motion over the past offseason, which is pretty ridiculous from a self discipline standpoint. Even in his best season he was inaccurate and dumb and now hes regressed all the way back to his rookie season, maybe even worse. The idea that everyone has a well of untapped potential that just needs coaching is a fallacy, some guys are just not good at football. We cant keep wasting time crossing our fingers and hoping someone can make him good.

If you don't want Blake, you did not see him play at all in 2015. He just needs to return to the 2015 Blake and we will be great on offense.

The fact that he did not work enough on his throwing motion in the offseason is 100% on the coaches. So obviously it is fixable.

How is his work on his own time in the offseason a fault of the coaches?

During his free time he can do what coaches teach him during OTAs and minicamps. It is not like he will never be in contact with his coaches before training camp.

Why isn't he now?  Is he Injured?  If so.  Why is he still playing?  When we are 2-10?   He had a lot of soft ds in fourth quarter last year he carved up.  So the stats are padded.  Do I like that?  Absolutely not.   However it is what it is.

No, during is free time is when he works with his own personal coaches Jordan Palmer and Tom House, which is what he did after his rookie season.

He said himself this past offseason that he was having a shorter session with them.
