Yes.
He signed a two year deal in 2015. He should be a FA after this season is over.

I would love Myles Garrett or Leonard Fournette.. I think those are the best 2 players in this draft. I do not think we should go with a QB, but we do need to bring in some QB competition. I really hope this year was a learning experience for BB5, and that he works very hard in this coming off season. I'm not quite ready to write him off. If we go with an DE in the first, we need to add O-line pieces in the 2nd and 3rd or 4th. I really hope this is the last time we get a high draft pick for quite some time....

I like CB Gareon Conley and QB Davis Webb.
Those guys preferably in the third and fourth respectively though either/both could see their stock rise to the second round.
I also like the idea of grabbing FB Freddie Stevenson in the 6th or 7th.
Wouldn't be opposed to Trubisky if they go QB early and guards Braden Smith (3rd round maybe) and Dorian Johnson (2nd round) are also of interest.

I'm going to say Conley is a 1st rounder comfortably.

Unless our first two picks are used on the O-Line, I'm not too keen on those picks, although I do really like the idea of Stevenson. I believe we need a FB and Stevenson is the best of the bunch. I just don't see Braden Smith or Dorian Johnson as elite starting level interior linemen in the NFL. I believe they will be average at best. Not much better than what we have now. I really want some linemen who can run block. Pat Elflein, Ethan Pocic, Dan Feeney and Billy Price would be my top choices.

I have to agree. I see Conley taken near the bottom of round 1 or at the top of round 2, at the latest.

I haven't done any actual research on guards. I have merely seen these guys play a little bit and was impressed in that limited viewing.
Which is why I labeled them merely "also of interest." I couldn't tell you how they compare to those you listed. If you look around however, you'll see a few "draft guys" calling Johnson a sure-fire starter in the NFL as a rookie. elite? Who knows. How many draft prospects can you really comfortably say will be "elite?"

Fournette, Mayfield

As far as O-Linemen, I am look for one thing this year.... run blocking ability. We completely lack run blockers on our O-Line. Normally I look at pass protection, but that hasn't served us very well. We have to find a way to kick start the run game and opening lanes should be priority one. The guys I mentioned are the best interior run blockers I've seen this year. I believe they would give us the best chance balance the offense. That's what I consider "elite" as far as our needs for this particular team. I really like Johnson's pass protection skills, but in my opinion, from what I saw, he's an inconsistent run blocker. Maybe in another year, I'd take a chance on him, but our run game is so bad, I want to fix it now. That means taking the best run blockers we can get.

I wouldn't call it a "crush", but I noticed that some draft boards have McCaffrey going in the late 20's, 28 or so........if we get Garrett or Allen in the first, I have this fantasy of McCaffrey somehow sliding into the top of the second round and we grab him.
Unless he runs a 4.7 or something at the combine, then no.

I agree, but it seems like under our current regime, all they draft for is pass protection. I want to get back to the days when we had Fred Taylor and MJD putting the fear of God in opposing defenses.

I think development is an issue in this instance also.
For one thing - Linder and Cann both looked like stud run blockers as rookies (Linder still does) and in Parnell's first year here he looked very capable in the run game.
This year they've struggled. No idea what has hampered Cann's development - and Parnell likely just lost motivation/got lazy after getting that year 2 bonus on a big FA contract. Linder is fine, and definitely doesn't fit that "only draft for pass pro" label.

There is no back like him un the league right now, and i think he has the potential to be the next Marshall Faulk. But no way he runs a 4.7, the guy was a track star. He ran a 4.48 in High School but I say he runs a low 4.5 at the combine. To break Barry Sanders record in college is crazy in itself.

On top of all that he is an elite runner, pass catcher, and return man. Oh yeah, and his dad is Ed McCaffrey. There is no question his resume is better than any player in this draft

We don't need him but James Connor the Pitt RB just declared for the draft. He's the guy who recovered from cancer recently.

We already have Ivory. Its a great story though I hope he gets drafted to a good team.

Ivory is very much replaceable so that wouldn't deter me from drafting a bruiser.
