It would be great for Stanzi to get some gametime at some point if only to evaluate him properly moving forward.

My gut tells me he would probably  outperform Henne and Gabbert.

He looks pretty good in the KC preseason highlight from 2011 that I've seen.  Stronger arm than Henne , nearly as strong as Gabbert.

Accuracy is a minor issue.  Throws a little high or behind receivers at times, but most of them are still catchable.  Smart in the pocket and decent footspeed to the sideline.

Scored a 30 on the wonderlic.  (average QB score is 24 - Average electrical engineer score is 31)

We have Stanzi and Scott on P/S. If they wanna start someone over Gabbert then begin with what you have already first. Tebow will not be playing for the Jaguars and I'm glad. We don't need him to sell tickets like all the Tebow lovers claim we do.

Yeah I agree I don't want him either. I really thought he was gonna be better then he shows of late. He had potential but I think his attitude got in the way.

Word. I just want something to get excited about. Even if we've mailed in the season, something needs to be done.

As for Tebow, I think alot of the arguments about his lack of qb talent cannot be scoffed at anymore as compared to what we h currently have. It's sad, but I think it's the truth

Even for the season?!?

Yeah -  he seems like a bit of a head case and and I've watched enough Bucs games in the past few years to know his deficiencies.

And although it started out as just a joke avatar, I would actually love to see Stanzi behind center after the bye week now that I've read up on him and watched the KC preseason youtube footage.  I think he'd make better decisions with the football than Freeman or any of the QBs on the roster.

I would be more excited to take Mark Brunnell out of retirement to start for us then see Tebow suit up.

I don't think that his attitude alone has got in the way, though it certainly hasn't helped.

I think part of the problem in Tampa is that Greg Schiano seems to be the type of person that will rub certain people the wrong way. He was seen as that hard nosed type of guy. But there are those in the league, and fans that I have spoken to, that see him more as your prototypical play ground bully. You can see that in the players he has alienated and forced out of the team, and certain players already on the team who are apparently unhappy with his style. So maybe Freeman's experience this season was not entirely down to him alone, because from what I've read - if true - it seems to suggest that Freeman was never truly seen by Schiano as 'his guy'. During last season when Freeman was having one of his most productive seasons of his career, Schiano never seemed willing to ever truly back and endorse Freeman as his guy. He seemed reluctant to give a straight answer when question. And even when Freeman broke franchise records for single season passing yards and TDs, again, Schiano seemed reluctant to truly back and endorse Freeman.

So can you blame Freeman if he took exception to that?

I guess as a team player you need to get your head down and continue to work. Try to prove him wrong. But if Schiano was dead set against Freeman and didn't see him as their guy going forwards, then there was always going to be conflict at some point where things boiled over. It seems that the Buccaneers have backed Schiano, and perhaps rightly so. But in terms of Schiano's style of coaching and overall personality, he seems to excel at rubbing people the wrong way, and I'm sure he could be difficult to work under.

I think the addition of Freeman could give us a QB to make the passing game more effective - that is, if he can find his form of last season. He wouldn't cost the team anything but his salary. But the problem with Freeman is that it would only be worthwhile signing him if he was going to be this team's QB going forwards. Freeman is an athletic QB with a big arm, he's talented for sure, but he has his limitations and he's frustratingly inconsistent. So unless coming here and working with this team's coaching staff eliminates or reduces his limitations and his inconsistency, and in turn makes him into a very productive passer, then I have my doubts as to how far this team can go with Freeman under the center.

I guess he has proven himself to be a productive passer last season, and in the right system he could thrive. So maybe it is worth taking a punt on him, see how it goes, and if he succeeds then this team can use its draft picks to build a roster around him. But personally I don't think that will happen, or for that matter, be the right choice. For me, it might be best to let Freeman go somewhere else and continue to go with what we have until next year's draft when they will likely take a new QB who can hopefully help turn this franchise around.

Where is the Tim he hoe option? That playa can play, playa!
Quote:Tim Tebow 47.9 completion %

Chad Henne 59.0 completion %

Blaine Gabbert 53.4 completion %

and Tebow adds a massive 28.3 yards per game on the ground.

Please, enlighten me how your Savior is better than any of the garbage we have at QB right now? The only thing Tebow would do is stunt the growth of our young receivers because he can't keep the football off the turf.

I will take Tebow.  It worked for a 1-4 Broncos team that was 4-12 the year before, ie BAD.
Teeblow, Freeman, Stanzi, Vinny Testeverde, whoever. Just get us someone in here.  At least act as though you haven't thrown the season away!

Great!  Please take him, go far far away, live a long and happy life and never be heard from again.

PS  Please take the other 39 cult members with you.
Quote:Please shut up about Tebow. My gosh, he had a chance to come here on a trade after 2011 and he chose to go to New York. Get the heck over it. The GM of this franchise has already released a statement saying he wasn't interested in bringing him in. Get off the message board and quit beating a dead horse. We understand your biased of a guy because his religion or because you think he's a good kid. Its really stupid you claim all these people want him here and like 15 people show up to the rally. That's pathetic. Now just hush, sign off and delete your account please.

I will personally stop talking Tebow the day Gabbert is off this team, I promise . As it stands now I want to underscore the fact tat TEBOW is waaaaay better than Gabbert at QB , wins , stats, you name it . That should speak volumes about the current situation .

Actually I think Gabbert is slightly better than T-bough statistically...  Well except for wins...  LOL and that's all Tea-beau does!!!

But on a serious note, I'm not sure why all the tee-bro haters are so vehement about bashing posters that are suggesting the chosen one anymore.  Believe me, I can't stand the whole T-bow hype either, but at this point there's really nothing that could make the situation we are in worse.

I always argued against T-bow becuase I thought our team was better without him, that with him our offense would be putrid and our "weapons" wouldn't be used and thus would regress.  I can't say that anymore.  Nobody can.  So why all the venom towards those that suggest a change in his direction, at least for the last 12 games of this year?  Give him a 12 game contract, then dump him once we draft our QB.  What would be the harm in that.  Oh and we'd still lose games, but we might just be competive and interesting to watch again.

At this point the only reason NOT to bring in the chosen one (that I can think of) is because you think he's good enough to make us not the worst team in the league and thus lose out on the #1 pick.  I mean, does anyone really worry about that?!?!

Heck, it's a better move than free beer day at the stadium, from the PR sense.  Don't get me wrong, free beer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> teebow

Where do I start?

1)    He is NOT capable of playing qb at the NFL level and never will be. You don't waste a roster spot on someone you know can't perform just to satisfy a few

       idiots claiming to be "fans"

2)    Everyone in the world can see this team is bad, with Tebow we look bad and stupid.

3)    If we bring him in now Caldwell loses all credibility.

4)   The media circus is a distraction which is the LAST thing this team needs now.

5)   Other players will resent his presence and the media attention he gets.

6)   Anger needs better protection.

7)   We're out of clipboards.

8)   For every cult member who actually buys a ticket, ten real Jaguar fans will leave in disgust.

9)   Idiots who know nothing about football will be saying "make" him a TE.

10) Did I mention he's not a very good football player?

1.  Gabbert is worse and we still keep him around...  What's up with that?!

2.  I'm not sure that's the case.  There's actually a chance we might look a bit more competitive (PS I'm for bringing in any QB that can help us)

3.  I can see that...  But Caldwell's the one who painted himself into a corner.  Yet another minor mistake by Caldwell.  Lesson:  You never say never...

4.  You don't think 0-16 would be big distraction?

5.  Not once he walks on water, touches MJD and gets him back into football shape, and cures Gabbert of lepercy.

6.  Conceded

7.  Conceded

8.  With the way the team is looking, we're losing fans without him.

9.  Tblow is so delusional he won't even consider being a TE.  That point is moot.

10. Agreed.  All I'm saying is that there are options out there that at one point were scoffed at, even by myself, which cannot be scoffed at any longer.  See point #1.  You can very easily interchange Gabbert into that sentence and it would still make sense.
