Word.
Quote:That is why it needs to be fixed. You aren't the only person that's having problems. I have a cousin that had been paying her premiums like clockwork, and the company had been paying for her meds and her dr visits when all of a sudden they informed her she didn't have insurance at all, that she hadn't been making payments at year, then promptly sent her a refund check of all the payments she had made that they said she hadn't been making. Crazy.

So it won't be a bad thing to rework the plan a little, don't you think? You might even end up with something I like a whole lot better.

I just think it would be very dangerous to repeal a law and then have to spend months arguing about how to replace it. Laws can't be switched in and out like football players. That is why I always preferred amendments instead of a repeal.
Any legislation that is urged to be passed before even being read is simply criminal.

THAT'S WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED INSTEAD OF WHAT WE GOT!!

We NEVER needed the entire bill.

All we needed where select, distinct, small changes that covered the very FEW things that needed to be addressed, like pre-existing conditions.

Yes, tossing it out completely and including only those new, necessary things are what is needed now.

It's like putting in a software release.  You back that defective code out completely when it causes the customer so much pain.

This grotesque bill has harmed more than it has helped.

Yay, we can go back to waiting in the ER when we have emergency, because all the uninsured with sniffles or a boo boo waiting for free care!

I have to admit, that actually infuriated me.

I couldn't believe they would PUBLICLY state "pass it to find out what's in it" (Pelosi). And, then got away with it.

I remember that dog and pony show they put on with Obama, Pelosi, and a few other legislators sitting at a table "discussing" the legislation proposal. One guy (I can't remember his name) was trying to discuss actual written parts in the proposal, and Obama said something like "We're not here to discuss details."

Why not Mr. President?

We knew right then that there was something shady being rammed right down our throats.
So will anybody explain how there is zero chance all of the good parts of the ACA will go away after it is repealed? I am still waiting for Republicans to provide a detailed plan that guarantees nobody will lose coverage of anything during what I call the "between laws period" if the ACA is repealed.

Don't worry! They will give us the stupid notion that interstate insurance is possible!

If you think I have no reason to worry about when no health care laws exist you must not need it yourself. It is going to be health insurance hell for everyone during that time if nobody has a plan to prevent it. I need to know nobody in the US will lose coverage for anything when no health care laws exist.

That's not going to happen.

Based on your description of your circumstances, wouldn't you qualify for Medicaid?

They're still there. ER utilization has not decreased since the ACA was adopted and hospitals and physicians are now saddled with trying to collect the deductibles that never seem to get met.

That hasn't changed.
Quote:All i can say is Vote for Michelle next election and ignore the excuses for Trump by Republicans.  The excuses get old and a new election is only 3 years and 11 months away.  If Obama had hell getting things passed through Congress then let's hope Trump goes through hell as well.

I had to accept that nothing for the African American race would get changed because of the headache changing things for multiple races caused.  If people cant agree on a change for everyone then i know they wouldn't give a darn about one race of people.  I just hope that the same struggles one party has to accept, the other does as well.
Seriously? More than just black folks are affected by things that happen in Washington. I am pretty saddened by your vitriol. Your attitude is part of the problem of why you seem to live a horrible existence. I know there are systemic issues for black people but a woe-is-me or hateful mindset isn't going to gain you anything.

None of that has changed.

I'm pretty sure they're not going to throw out the current version until they have a new one ready to take it's place. It would be political suicide for both sides if that were to happen. The democrats have minimum 8 votes to approve the new version so everyone has a dog in the fight.

I do not because I get Social Security benefits. It does not make sense, but it is what it is.

What isn't going to happen?

I demand an answer to my question about how nobody will coverage for anything if anybody wants to convince me repeal/replace is even close to a good idea.

Watch 60 Minutes this evening.  It might ease your concerns.
