Hurns and Arob catch those passes and this thread wouldn't exist.... I cant give up on him yet because I remember the gabbert years. Hes young and flashes occasionally
I was actually quite impressed with Bortles yesterday.

The whole offense looked better. Sure there were some bad decisions but it was MUCH better than recent weeks.

Look i want to like the guy, I really do, but the thread was did anyone expect him to pick up that first down?? He always plays like [BLEEP] to start out a game then lights up softened up Ds that are protecting leads. I want to win as much as anyone, but i'm really questioning whether this guy deserves to be in this league, i've never seen so many innaccurate throws, not just yesterday but all season. I thought maybe he was hurt, could be, but what he's showing on the field is not going to get this franchise any wins.
When did the KC defense soften up exactly?
I thought the team played their best game.

Actually getva run game and giys can't hold onto the ball. Other than INT, he didn't throw alpt of bad throws.

He did have some nice throws that were dropped, or WR being lazy and putting there speed to make the catch
You people act like what Bortles is doing is rare and can't be fixed. If that's the case, then some of you really are blinded with anger. Some of the better QBs in the league have had a regressive season at some point in their career - some of them happen right after a breakout year. What we should be thankful for is that we at least know what the problem really is and that it is fixable - and don't even try to argue this - he had mechanic issues coming into the league and he did fix it. He just made an error in judgement and didn't continue to work at it like he should.

Having drafted Gabbert should have proven that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Not once did Gabbert flash any potential - let alone have a season good enough to be offered a spot in the pro bowl. Bortles, on the other hand, has actually shown more than enough potential to be given another chance to correct his problems with a better coaching staff behind him. If some fans can't (or don't want to) under that, then they obviously forgot about Gabbert way too fast.

Continuously drafting QBs every other year does NOT work - just ask Cleveland and Washington. Prior to this year, both lacked the patience to develop a QB. Despite what I think about Kirk Cousins, at least Washington has chosen to try and be patient for once and see if he's the guy or not. It seems that Cleveland, however, will continue to have that problem for the foreseeable future (of course making smarter selections in their case wouldn't hurt, either).

Bortles has issues he needs to fix and he does need to be serious about them or his career will be in jeopardy, but how is that any different from a lot of young QBs? A lot of young QB have to work on their mechanics or some other weakness in their first 3-4 years in the league or they risk being a career back up or even out of the league. The difference? Drive. Bortles shows that he does have it, but he assumed wrong that he had fixed his issues completely. The next season should show if he has the drive or not. I've seen young players with worse issues to fix and they turned out fine. Give the guy a chance to try and fix his problems offseason and recover from a bad one and not call for him to be cut after 7-8 games into a bad one.

The worst part and it's easy to call the HC and QB a joke, is that offense is sttuggling as a whole.

Most dropped passes in the league, one of the worst running games.

You win games as a team not as a QB. Sure peyton has won more regular season games due to his arm, but once his arm was gone how many dis he actually win by himself?
I saw Rodgers throw the same interception that Bortles did against Oakland last night against the clots. He'll be fine.

It would be more excusable if you also saw Blake hit the WR in the face mask on a deep bomb instead of missing by 5 yards.
We had a 3rd and 1, so Bortles decides to go shotgun and hand the ball off 5 yards deep... talk about asking a lot out of your RB... Bench Bortles until 2017!!!!

Bortles decides? You sure about that?

Wrong, Rodgers threw the same INT and we all know he sucks, right?

He has the ability to call timeouts and question the call.... my dead grandma would question that call.
We need winners. Trump for QB?

He does? Thanks for the info coach.
Quote:I was expecting Ivory..
yah... like... run the ball for 1 yard with the guy who can bowl over a guy and get at least 1 yard........
Isnt like half of Bortles wins in his career on come back victories?

How is that always crumbling under pressure

so that's like 3-4 wins haha.

You'll have some comeback wins when you're always behind

Here they are:

5 4th quarter comebacks and 6 game winning drives out of 10 wins.

Bortles is 10-27 overall.

Well, Blake has started 38 games in his career and Miami last year and Indy this year are the only two games out of that entire 38 that we haven't trailed at some point so I'm not really sure how impressive that is.
