i hope he plays like this the entire rest season to really drive home the point that he isnt good, doesnt have potential, and isnt good at anything besides looking like a nfl quarterback.

Space was noticeably absent during the Detroit, KC, Houston weeks (maybe not by choice though, idk). Bortles did not look good in those games, plus the defense was good to decent = No spacecoastjag


Against Buffalo, Bortles looked better and the defense looked worse. Space shows up with his normal crowing.


Denver week:

Defense plays outstanding in the 2nd half. Defense only allows 10 points for the game. Bortles and the offense look awful. A Pick-6 and a fumble in Denver FG range attributes 10 points against the Jags.


Space will be gone.

I don't think it's cool to call out a poster if he\she stopped posting. You never know what kind of [BLEEP] they may being going through.


Let's wait to see what Bbint apologists have to say. But just because spacecoastjags hasn't posted doesn't mean anything.

For sure 100% agree.

I'm a Blake apologist, what I liked today:

•those highlights of him getting his release faster (he corrected this pretty quickly, the long windups are less)


And that's about it^


•His over throws are becoming nauseating and his duck passes are too frequent. His inability to read defenses concerns me. But I'm confident with better coaching that will be addressed.


•I'm not going to tell anyone we haven't lost games because of Bortles, WE HAVE

But, I really do believe he's talented. I'm going to give him 1 more year. I think this year he got bad advice by focusing on the playbook instead of his own mechanics in the offseason.

•I also believe this offense got too cocky over the offseason, Hurns and Robinson have been playing less consistently and it's hurt our team.

•and finally let's not pretend there is a better option in the draft right now, I would not be opposed to signing a vet though.

Deep down, I think a lot of people (including myself) feel like Blake has the talent. He has been poorly coached but some of this is on him.


I think the Jags whole offense is going to be kicking themselves all summer and with the right HC, will come back next year better than ever. Defense will continue to get better when Myles Garret or Jon Allen come along.

I call folks outc all the time. I'm just saying that just because spacecoastjags hasn't apologized for Bbint recently shouldn't be seen as a detriment on the argument.


Attacking the person instead of the argument should only be done is you really have a beef on the person. You know, like if a poster questions other posters fan-dom...

See I don't get the whole "coaching" thing. Does a coach improve a player? Sure. But the amount of issues the Blake has should of been coached out of him 12 years ago. He's in the big leagues and much of what is to be coached is polishing already good qualities. Blake is having to be completely demolished and rebuilt. Someone in the NFL shouldn't need as much coaching as he does just to make basic throws.


We should of never drafted him. I think in this draft Deshaun Watson wouldn't be a bad pick. He at least has good mechanics.

I don't necessarily think he needs to be "coached" on how to do a specific thing, rather a coach who strives for correct repetitions over time, a coach who knows how to refine mechanics and a coach who holds people incredibly accountable. What any good teacher would do.


I really believe Bortles makes most of those mistakes, not neccesarily because of a coaching issue or lack of knowledge, but because there is no one who is demanding consistent correctness from him. They're treating him like a 10+ year vet instead of a 3rd year young player.

It's just a losing culture around here. It will eventually affect all the players, even the good ones.

 

The Jags need to find someone who will be able to change it.

 

It will take some doing, but it is possible.

Could be worse, we could have the 49ers situation today.
